Well well well, look at that long tail you got there........

Look here, Spudly, I know more than you. And, the fact that I have not only played college football (OFFENSIVE LINE), but have the intellect to be a professional engineer and, furthermore, a high earning one that bosses nerds only solidifies the fact that I am even more CREDIBLE.

Now, unless you have actually evaluated college talent for a major university or for an NFL program (not your fricking uncle/cousin/brother/etc.), GFY.

Thanks go out to Max for Joxying this shite for me.

Not this bs again.

Do I have to take that Collins vs Clowney video again and show how Collins only managed to not get whooped like 2 out of the 10 plays he had against JC?

I'll save you the time. If you think LC got "whooped" then you don't understand wtf you're looking at. Clowney was a non-factory all but 1 time in the video.

Because just about every play went away from Clowney's side. Collins got tossed what...6...7...8 times?

I don't have to watch the link, I watched that game on TV. And Clowney definately was definately a non-factor until Collins left. I was watching Collins the whole time he was on the field and I remember teling myself that LC was winning all the battles in the trenches. And yes Jarvis dominated as well

Thank you! I had a breakdown of every single play in another thread a while back, and anyone who said he abused Clowney is a drunken homer. Clowney absolutely won the matchup.

lol might want to watch again.

Found my previous breakdown. Go ahead and click on that link bud...

quote:

Here's a breakdown of said "neutralization":

1st Play: Collins locks on Clowney, leans, and then gets shed. Clowney is in on the tackle.
2nd Play: lol get tossed Collins.
3rd Play: Collins trying harder now...tackles Clowney from behind lol?
4th Play: A little bit better footwork by Collins. Clowney beats him to the outside, but RB aids him in the block.
5th Play: 1st legit block Collins makes straight up. Very well done.
6th Play: Holy hell Collins gets schooled and Clowney causes a fumble. Because neutralized defensive lineman cause fumbles.
7th Play: Collins 2nd time blocking Clowney head up. Looks like there could be some jersey tuggin goin on but nothing flag worthy IMO.
8th Play: Collins sticks with Clowney for a two-step, then is shucked. Play rolls away so Clowney just rocks the RB while in pursuit for shits'n'giggles?
9th Play: Clowney fools Collins with a simple stutter step, and Collins leans to try and make the block. Clowney is a step late though. Collins while not that solid of a road block, is at least proving to be a somewhat efficient speed bump.
10th Play: Collins sells the pass block, Clowney over pursues. Collins rocks some poor LB/DB?
11th Play: Not very good coverage but obviously Collins suffers an injury. Clowney is in on the tackle if you pay close attention.

So all in all, Collins had two solid blocks on Clowney, and one good play on another defender. Clowney, while he didn't make it to the ball every time, caused a fumble and was in on 2 other tackles. And rocked an unsuspecting RB for lulz. Out of 11 plays though, Collins got made a fool on about 8 of them.

Neutralization at its best?

Better stick with the bum ankle story boys.

I didn't know anything about this Collins v. Clowney duel but inasmuch as I'm a big fan of both LSU and USC and found this thread interesting I took the time to watch the linked video against your play-by-play writeup.

In summary, I think your writeup is a bit exaggerated. I'm not saying Collins pushed Clowney around, and I wouldn't have expected to, but aside from the forced fumble I didn't see anything particularly dominating from either guy... certainly nothing remotely close to the highlight reels I had seen previously of Clowney. I think it's a fair observation to say that Collins neutralized Clowney FOR THE MOST PART when the play-by-play guy hardly mentions Clowney at all. I also think it's a fair observation to say that Collins was playing on a bum ankle when even the play-by-play guy announces it. Made a fool of on 8 of 10 plays? I don't know who you are or why you would, but you wish.

As I stated before I'm not a huge LSU fan like most of the real LSU fans on here and never claimed to be. I'm a huge Saints fan,big time NFL fan, and all-around football fan, but I got into recruiting somehow and I only read/post on the recruiting board, never even viewed the famous SEC rant or any other LSU board once. Just got hooked on recruiting somehow.Basically what I'm saying is I'm definately not a homer. But that being said I do know football and that play by play is YOUR play by play. Your calling it how u saw it. I work with a Bama fan that swore up and down that the refs gave LSU that game last year. And he honestly believes that. My point being is you can call it jersey tugging, overpursuing , or whatever you may honestly believe. But the fact is that Collins won those battles by playing good football on the O-line. Yes LC neutralized the "best recruit" from last year. And he will be doin the same thing to opposing SEC d-Lineman for a few years at LSU.(now that is an opinion)

Memphis-???

You're a Bama fan so we don't expect you to know too much about football, so good assessment based upon your knowledge

First, I did add a bit of humor to it. Why? Because I already found the idea that all of these people trying to say Collins handled Clowney was funny as hell.
Second, the way I broke it down is how it happened. If you want, you can go ahead and make your own play by play. But what I said happened, happened.
Third, there were eleven plays. Not ten. Now I know you're either dumb, can't read, or a combination of both.

As I stated before...blah blah blah...Basically what I'm saying is I'm definately not a homer.

That's nice.

This is true. It is my play by play. I even said it was. It's also what happened.

Your calling it how u saw it.

I called it how it was.

This is highly irrelevant to the post...and just plain stupid to even mention.

quote:

My point being is you can call it jersey tugging, overpursuing , or whatever you may honestly believe. But the fact is that Collins won those battles by playing good football on the O-line.

You're right. He won 2-3 battles by playing good football. He got his arse beat in at least 8 of them by not.

quote:

Yes LC neutralized the "best recruit" from last year.

For 3 plays.

quote:

And he will be doin the same thing to opposing SEC d-Lineman for a few years at LSU.(now that is an opinion)

I think he's going to be a great OL for LSU. Probably won't be a dominating force his freshman year but so few OL can really pull that off in the SEC.
