I am pretty confident in this class. It seems like they play to not only get attention of the media but also the fans. Mark my words: 09, 10, and 11= number one in the SEC in the next couple of years.

US Army All-American Bowl Awards:

typical overreaction by seeing these kids for a few days.

Ware is now the best RB in the country, and Seastrunk all of a sudden is a 4 star player

not that i care about the rankings, but if Rivals overreacts like some of the fans and changes a bunch of rankings, then they dont hold much water in my eyes.

Ware is one of the best RBs in the country. You disagree? The big knock on him was the transition from QB to RB.. and he passed that test with flying colors.

Seastrunks stock has been dropping slowly all season. He's still a game breaker.. but reviews coming out of the AA games said that he didn't act like he didn't really take football seriously.

a lot of times this is the first time that ALL of their evaluators get to put eyes on the players in person. i think that's the biggest reason for this..

This report coupled with the Oregon writer pretty much saying the same thing about Lache while on his visit doesn't make him look good.

Excited about seeing all the good press about Mash....not a big recruiting guy but is he a guy that we can expect to play right away?

Miles usually redshirts alot of guys. I guess its possible, we are pretty thin at DT.

Yeah, seeing players against top tier competition under close observation and equivalent conditions don't really mean all that much.

Signed,

Josh Downs

They do put a lot of weight on these games, but there's pretty good reason to.

It just really sucks for the kids who don't play in them because they will inevitably get the shaft.

so playing in the Under Armour game made Josh Downs a better player than he already was??

he was an LSU commit for a year almost before he played in that game.

not really, the games are a joke for the most part. Glorified exhibitions. And the practices im sure arent much better

judging guys physiques when they walk in the lobby is a great way to rank a player

Playing against equal competition for the first times in most of these players lives.. on national television.. You don't think that's a good way to measure a prospect? Or do you prefer to evaluate by watching elite prospects push around inferior opposition?

He became a better play by playing against better competition.. and he just got the exposure that he 'deserved'.

Who said anything about him being better?

It's about him being seen and people realizing how good he truly is.

No, but it gave him a stage to shine. I don't think anyone was claiming it was great for their development.

Yes, but the practices mean a lot too. Also, even though the format of the games is not the greatest, you can look at individual efforts and judge them accordingly.

If you don't like the practices and workouts, I guess you think the NFL combines are a dumb and pointless too.

What is "Reverse Racism"?

Kind of a tricky one to nail down in football when you think about it... given the stereotype would be that the black players are faster and more athletic

It would almost be reverse racism if people dogged a white player for being an athlete who didn't put in much effort... or a black player for being a hard worker but not terribly talented

I never understood why Josh Downs was only a 3 star. He DOMINATED in his highlight films. I questioned him coming in as a guard because his defensive highlights looked better.

Lache's sophmore and junior highlight reals were great, but his play this year wasn't that impressive. I said that a few months back. He is a great athlete, but something is missing. I think it is HEART that is missing.
