Brandon Harris got rated. Now a 90 (and a 4*)

Most surprising thing imo.

Looks like he may get that LSU offer soon.

Because of his new rating?

Yes. You'd hope that the scouting services would be competent enough to has some evaluation or rating in place before you give a 4*. I guess I just think it's rare and you don't normally see someone go from no ranking to 4*. Thought the same with Kevin Spears last year.

Well Spears ranking was after the commitment to LSU.

Exactly. I just think they should be a more less reactionary in their rankings/evaluations and more proactive in covering everyone they can. Not hold off until the commit so you don't look bad.

Why surprising? It's March a year before signing day. Lots of kids are still under the radar

I kinda already answered that above, but I'm not trying to down him or anything. Just making general comments.

Thank you for info. Maybe Willis and Godchaux will get a boost after dominant performance in camp.

yeah, i responded and then saw your post. So I added more

I think we're just so used to not paying attention to these guys til summer that we expect that if they rank everyone earlier that the rankings will be solid.

It's kinda how I feel about the 2015 rankings. There is just such a long way to go that they don't mean much to me. Sure the top 5 or so in Texas or LA or whatever as freak athletes are freak athletes, but trying to rank #22 vs #23. Meh, total waste of time imo.

I know it's kind of lame and overblown, but it sure seems like any player Bama is after gets bumped

I think 247 does a better job ranking La players, but they had Bama's class ranked higher than the others last cycle until the end when they ended up #1 every where. Maybeit's bias, maybe they were just right.

Just checked the timeline and Willis is still a 4*, but moved from 95 to a rating of 96. It doesn't appear that Godchaux moved in the ratings.

not for sure that 247 was at the event in Houston. it might have been a rivals event.

I have a very different definition of under the radar. If a kid has an offer from any D1 school (especially a BCS school!), they are not under the radar. They're already getting attention from major schools. They may not command major attention like some blue chips prospects, but at least they have profiles and information.

re: Brandon Harris

well, he wasn't under the radar yesterday, but they don't update rankings every day. Probably just a matter of timing. I think before the last ratings update (Jan?) no one knew who Harris was. But since he's picked up a few offers and had some major programs sniffing around. So this update he's no longer under the radar
