Barkley had a suckey senior year but showed up big time in the bowl game.

Sounds about like the season LSU just had, play terrible during the year but show up big time in the bowl game, yet everyone on this board is giddy about them winning the West next year. Now the same people don't like the fact that Barkley jumped ahead of Shepard. Amazing hypocritical.

You know, you might be the only USC fan that I can be able to stand, unless you go off on how they deserve to be in the national championship every year

If you saw the UA game, what would be your assessment of his performance compared to the other QBs?

what are the others? that they are only judging him on one performance? what makes you think that their scouts haven't been to a few of his games? I only saw one of his games this year and the kid looked pretty good. He had good pocket presence, looked off the dbs, and checked down.

3 touchdowns, would've been 5 if his quarterbacks could get him the ball, and Brown didn't make you say "Damn!"?????

Nothing that he did in throwing any of those TDs was just absolutely incredible, no. One of them was a fricking 10-yd slant for christ's sake.

Are they both badasses? Of course.

Did Matt Barkley deserve to jump to the #1 spot after one good BS game and a mediocre season? No.

There are plenty of players out there who had GREAT seasons who have a better argument IMO.

He has played 0 games since the last time they ranked him.

I don't know why it bothers you so much that I'm not blowing this dude over 1 game.

I'm talking about Barkley.

Brown played in the AA game and looked incredible. Surprisingly, most of his huge plays were him catching passes out of the backfield.

ETA: AH! OK. I misread your OP. I thought the 3 TDs was in reference to Barkley. My bad. Point still stands though.

QUESTION: Is it just me or did it look as if the kids that played in the UA game were shown alittle more love than the kids in the AA game?

QUESTION: Willie Downs only 150 do you think that is fair?

Stavion took a hit but, but Davenport came in about right were he was (higher than Mcfarland I think. Downs Big jump. Loston Nice jump. And Ford is 104. SO overall I am happy but it could have better.

Q: Who should be #1, Shep or Barkley?
A: Who gives a shite.

If I had to choose between the two, I would take Shep. We got him. That's all that matters. Screw the rankings.

Now the REAL intriguing thing that I noticed was that Holloman and Gilmore are ranked higher than Armstrong. Any new word on whether or not Cooper may be able to pull either of them to LSU?

QB's and WR's were (I can only remember one running play from the UA game) and they were given more leway to commit the way they wanted to as opposed to the AA where they sit behind a table and just pick a hat.

Both were impressive. I'm happy to see them coming to LSU.

If the allstar game(s) had any bearing on this then some top recruits ought to pass on participating. The gsme csn only hurt you not help you.

Overall I think J. Jenkins looked to be the only player ready to start right now. He was very impressive. I would not compare Barkley and RS bases on that game. Barkley played roughly 3 quarters, RS only played about 12 snaps.

saban is getting the same talent and using the same formula that he did at lsu. either next year or the next we will see a team virtualy identical to the 2003 team. It damn near looked like it this year.

I am starting to get a bad feeling on randles recruitment. With the guys left on bama's board and what they will more then likely pull in. They could easily pull the number 1 class again. Randle will be the keystone. They will be a force in the next couple years no doubt. And i think he is seriously considering that.

I still think we have the edge, but the closer it gets to signing day and the more recruits that sign on with bama, the worse i am going to feel.

Where's Chris Faulk? He is definitely worthy.
