It seems like this kid was part of the 2014 class at this point.

Anyway, I hope he ends up in P&G. The handler can suck it, but I don't fault the kid for the Bama gear fiasco. It seems like he has wanted to play at LSU all along but was being pulled in different directions.

Just out of curiosity, given how passionate the rivalry is between Bana and LSU, what was the thinking behind the Bama gear at an LSU event?

Who knows, but if the roles were reversed and we had a "handler" show up at Bama's camp in LSU gear with a few stud recruits this board would rejoice, and for good reason.

The frustrating thing about many of the comments in this thread is the holier than thou approach to it all. It is one thing to be pissed that the guy is pro-Bama, but to blabber on about it being disrespectful and too questions someone's character over it is ridiculous considering no one would have the slightest issue if the roles were reversed.

Wasn't he committed at one point?

it was the handler

Can someone update me on what a handler does with a high school football player? Is this the friend of the family type thing hoping the guy turns pro and gets a kickback? Forgive me if out of the loop on the handler thing.

they 'handle' the recruiting process so that the kid is not overwhelmed. At least that's the idea. He takes the calls, the visits, does the heavy lifting so parents and kids aren't lied to and pulled in every direction.

They do the same job an agent does, tbh.

He was. I think Duckie is pointing out that Carter brings a lot more to the table than just his individual talents, hence the Bama interest from day one.

I swear I was just looking at his highlights last night. Its crazy that this news surfaces now. But I would love to have him. But Anderson is my pick.

yep. why does everyone think Bama was all over Shyheim?

Lol... do you really think that's why BAMA is recruiting Shyheim? Shyheim was committed before Smith ever went to a camp or played a 7-on-7 game! Shyheim was actually the person that told coaches about Smith!

Smith was a stud as a freshman in 7 on 7, he killed it against us.

I think he's more talented than Shyheim and I think Shyheim is one of the top 5 most talented players to ever play in Tangipahaoa Parish!

no, I do not claim that Carter is not worth an offer. Period. Dude is worth his own on the field. But there is a reason why he is being pulled from every direction possible. Coaches see him as the stud who helps bring others along.

everyone is hoping to get a twofer

If that's the case, they should in no way be partial to any school.

Is it accurate to assume that most of the rivalry and passion (seemingly hatred) is mostly fans? Do LSU players have a healthy dislike for Bama players and vice versa? Is that part of the recruiting process too? Interestingly, the LSU side might enjoy reeling a really good recruit back which may work well with team chemistry. I know as a fan that I prefer the college game because there is that passion with the players. It's a fine line and probably difficult for the young men.
