Today Bailey Ferrer announced she will be attending LSU next Spring and compete for the 2019 season. She is expected to arrive in early to prepare for the season, how early we still don't know yet.

Major addition for LSU on Vault and Floor, she will add a 10.0 vault and competes a double arabian on floor. She will likely see an opportunity to be in the rotation on bars as well, she has a really nice bars set.

LSU is also in the mix for a top transfer in Lizzy Leduc, her decision will be announced pretty soon, LSU and OU are the favorites it seems.

Just read she had committed to LSU in high school then decommited and went to Illinois. What happened there and why is she leaving Illinois? Assume she is a grad transfer
and eligible immediately or do different transfer rules apply in gymnastics?

Well there was a conflict between her and the staff, she was unsure if she wanted to focus strictly on elite and try to make the 2016 Olympics or come to college. It was a giant mess, coaches were kinda pissed because she didn't communicate a lot of it. Both parties backed out of it. Luckily we picked up Finnegan after.

She was removed from Illinois due to violations of team rules, ill just leave it at that. She would have 2 years to compete. The transfer rules for non football, basketball, sports are different, she would be able to compete immediately. She is phenomenal on floor and beam, and would immediately impact this team on beam

Sounds like a good addition if her personal issues are behind her. It will be interesting to see if Bailey Ferrer can contribute at a young age like Christina Disiderio did. Along with Rebecca D'Antonio they now have a solid group of recruits to add depth to the lineup. This would help keep the others fresh and less prone to over use injuries.

Ferrer would immediately step in on vault and add another 10.0 vault.

I honestly don't trust Lexies body to hold up next season even if we try to be extremely conservative, floor is way too brutal of an event on her. Ferrer would likely occupy a floor spot. Then you add Kelley back to the mix

I see her in the vault and floor rotation next season if all as planned.

She is actually pretty good on bars, maybe she could be lead off next season if she continues to develop. Durante needs to be moved down the lineup so she sees better scores.

Lizzy would probably work well in the number 2 spot in the beam lineup. It will be fun to see who wins that other spot. DD will probably push Cannamela and Kirby, but we all know they really aren't what we need on beam. Dean should be one of the first people to see an opportunity as well as Durante. People don't know how good Durante is on beam, she just focused on bars last season after a minor surgery to fix her up.

Now the 2019 class is just Kai Rivers and Caitlin Smith

I don't keep up with gym much, but is this girl better than that one that committed to UCLA a few months ago? The one who apparently took issue with some of the LSU coaches (allegedly).

Again, I don't know much about gym, but what these girls do is incredible. Glad it's getting more and more exposure. I'm not sure I could even stand on the beam for 10 seconds without falling off, much less doing what these girls do.

I think you are referring to Trinity Thomas and she went to Florida

Trinity is the better gymnast but for college level, everyone is pretty evened out. Your top level 10 gymnasts can put up scores just as high or higher than elites. Its just normal for it to be easier for elites at the NCAA level because the difficulty is a breeze compared to what they did before.

Lexie Priessman, Sarah Finnegan, Christina Desiderio all used to do a lot more difficult stuff before LSU, a lot of the routines and skills they compete now is way easier for them.
