It seems you are the one crying racism. I just mentioned the different treatment Finley has received versus Max Johnson or King. Tell me where I posted a false statement about Finley. No one finds fault in Johnson whose completion percentage was worse than Finley.

When Finley committed to LSU there were many who expressed unfounded negativity about him as a QB. They first said he had an attitude problem and since have come up with all type excuses as to why he should be dropped. The same were saying how great Johnson is. At that point there was nothing on film or stats that indicated Johnson was a better prospect than Finley. They claimed Finley was inaccurate. Nothing said about Johnson’s inaccuracy. When his completion percentage was mentioned, there were excuses made for his low completion percentage.

And I guess you are one of the guys who feels racism doesn’t exist and those that are, are fine people. Maybe there is a racist behind every tree. And you could be one of them. Racists are not some kind of endangered species as many would have you believe.

I don’t care if the kid is green. If he helps LSU win championships who cares what his skin color is?
When these guys put on purple and gold they are all family to me.

I totally agree! I wish everyone felt that way. Unfortunately we all know as a fact that is not the case.

I'm from Ponchatoula and know people who teach and coach at the school. It's a mixed bag of opinions on him, but the most consistent is that his work ethic isn't great. He gets by mostly on God given talent.

That will have to change.

What percentages are you playing where Johnson is a better prospect than Finley? What would those percentages be based on? And where the latest positive reviews of Finley do not sway your previous opinion?

Johnson is a much higher rated prospect, and the coaching staff went after him even though Finley was committed.

The staff was going after 2 QBs regardless. So what is your point?

You are aware there is a history of racism against black QBs right? Racists do not believe blacks have the "requisites" to play QB. There are some here who do not believe blacks should play offensive line either. And you do know there were many who didn't want LSU to recruit "dual threat" QBs, right? King and Burrow notwithstanding. I'm unaware of racism against recruiting and starting white QBs or offensive linemen.

Jesus Christ. I'm out.

Do not use His name in vain. Are you out because my statement is incorrect? Or because it hits a nerve? The statement is 100% correct. And if you disagree, what part is not true??????

Have an upvote.
We went from debating the merits of a commited QB to rooting out racism in all of college football.
Also by reading through this whole thread Finley is somewhere between Brandon Harris and Superman.

I know little more about this guy’s abilities than I did when I first heard his name.

This entire thread needs to get whacked. We don't need our recruits reading this ignorance.

To get the thread somewhat back on track, despite apparently being the standout performer of day 2, and having a good performance on day 3, Finley was still unable to crack the top 11. If you read 247 though you would think he should have been in the top 5. Very interesting.

Sounds a lot like the people I talk to who watch him at Ponchatoula. He makes 4 or 5 throws that leave people speechless, but the consistency just isn't there.

I mean that doesn’t seem right. According to Lemoine he was consistently spinning well on Sunday and made it to the final 2 of several drills throughout the comp, which I would think requires quite a good bit of consistency.

Well they saw something that caused them to leave him out.

Footwork for a QB is a pretty big deal once you get to a certain level.

I didn’t mean his footwork issues were maybe nothing. I meant either he didn’t make it because of footwork or he couldn’t make it for no reason at all except that he started in probably 20th place. Sorry for the confusion

Sunday’s workout helped him (Finley) earn top performer honors from 247Sports as the best quarterback of the day.
