that was the strongest recruiting post ever! I love Les Miles not only for his recruiting and his coaching (incl. assts, of course), but for his stewardship of the program. You will not find a head coach with more integrity and one that represents their university better. We are very lucky to have him even if we don't win any more N/C's (although I think he has a good chance of doing it again). Since we are now a tier one university, this is a great time to be an LSU grad!

Very well done.

They aren't..
2009: #22
2008: #2
2007: #8
2006: #8
Notre Dame has more in common with our recruiting than vandy washington, etc.

I see one serious flaw in your assessment. You fail to consider attrition. Les has got to do a better job of selecting kids that will stay.
Take 2007 for example, in which we were #4 with a 3.88 star average. Off that class, we've lost Clemons, Corley, Benton, Jarvis Jones, and Phelon Jones. Those guys were 4*-5* blue-chippers that greatly inflated our ranking and star average, but they never contributed. Take them out of that class, and it might not crack the top 15.
Further, you start stringing together 2-3-4 years with that kind of personel loss, we might find ourselves slipping out of the NCAA elite.

Where is Oklahoma in the Top 20 ranking? I noticed they were missing.

That's such a BIG job...nobody (not even the recruiting sites) track it. I think only rivals does an update to last years class after they determine who is accademicaly eligible, but the final rankings don't change from February. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
Every team has attrition...its part of developing talent. The better you are at deveoping talent and recruiting, the less attrition hurts your team. Ryan Perrilloux should be your prime example. He really F-ed us last year and the the Coaching staff had no one with any game experience in the wings.
I sure wish Miles would have let RP stay as a commit to TX and signed Colt McCoy!
Your point is valid, but nearly impossible to track without much man hour help...

Nick Saban didn’t even do as well as Les Miles in recruiting.
