[quote]sometimes, there isn't a link. this was said on scout's chat last weekend with shea dixon, whos a managing editor there. he was asked about rasco, and revealed that coach dawson told him that muschamp has been outworking the lsu coaches so far.

but it's still early and obviously the lsu staff has time to get back into the position it once had with rasco.

I majored in political science and minored in government in college - I do not believe subjective hearsay that is constantly thrown around on the rodeo and on TV...and I sure as hell don't give the recruiting websites credit for being experts in their fields (yesterday proved many of them wrong, again).

When you say that LSU has time to get back to where we were with Rasco, that immediately makes me think that all the Texas talk is just that - talk. If we were sitting well with him, then there's no reason to think that his opinion of us, at least, has changed. He may like Texas, too, but I already knew that - I just wouldn't call him a Texas lean.

If you can honestly tell me that their aren't plenty of people around Evangel that consider Rasco to be an LSU lean, then you must be convinced that he's going to Texas - that doesn't seem to be the case, from what you've said. With that being considered, those confirmations that you've heard were based on talks being conducted with those in Evangel that suggest that Rasco is a Texas lean - it's nothing more than that and it's all subjective and about timing.

Muschamp should be outworking us for him. He's had the whole year to concentrate on him.He was only recruiting Hicks and Jeffcoat since march. We have 2 new coaches that had to make up ground in this year's class.Muschamp couldn't have made much more ground than us though because contact has been extremely limited with 2011 prospects thus far.Only way is if Rasco or coaches are calling Muschamp regularly and not LSU.If that's the case then we are in trouble with him anyway. We'll put a huge rush on him and keep it close.I think the other guys in state will make the difference.

No rebuttal? Great.

those guys played at Evangel and Went to TX!

I dont care what you majored in or where you went to school, some people hear/feel/see things and some on here are full of shite...if you knew our legal system you can also point out a little thing called circumstantial evidence...people have been convicted on it...as in the history that I pointed out to you earlier...hence geigger and pittman

thank you

I can however point out the ones that did go to LSU as well, Josh and Abraham Booty, Hester, Byron Dawson, Chase Pittman....

The Booty's are what started it though, apparently they werent well liked in the locker room...At least thats what Tommy Banks said in Monroe....so, guys starting going to TX...were just now starting to get a few back...

Muschamp is really no defensive guru either - there very obviously aren't any of those in the Big 12.

Muschamp's claim to fame is just that - he's the claim to the Longhorn head coaching position once Mack Brown retires. Will can really use this to his advantage on the recruiting trail, but our guys, along with many in Evangel, are most definitely going to set the record straight in their pursuit of Rasco. Mack Brown is most likely not going to retire for a few years, and Muschamp is NOT guaranteed to be there to step in and take Brown's place when the time comes.

A number of schools have already offered Muschamp their head coaching vacancies, and a number of schools will continue to do so over the course of the next several years while Brown is still at Texas. I estimate that Georgia will come calling within 2 years, and we'll see what happens - Muschamp is going to have a hard time turning that job down with Brown still kicking and with Texas still winning.

LSU's defense against Muschamp's efforts will consist of the above and of more that we don't know. The bottom line is that Rasco is going to be given plenty to think about from LSU, Texas, and from even more universities over the course of the next full year. Like most highly-touted recruits, he'll grow weary of the process and see the obvious best and easiest choice that is right under his nose.

You're obviously upset, and I don't blame you - I would be, too, if I were ugly.

Anyway, we can spend all day talking about past recruits - where they were from, where they ended up. You could use that so-called "circumstantial evidence" to try to convince people on here that great things will happen or bad things will happen. In the end, we're talking about (1) specific recruit and his intentions.

I did not study law much but I strongly feel that we can't learn much about the recruitment process from it...if you feel otherwise, then I'd say you're a special little kid.

We'll see what happens with Rasco, but I wouldn't call a 2011 LA high school prospect that hasn't even started his senior season yet a lean to ANY other school but LSU.

like most of your comments but disagree with this...u think it hurts muschamps recruiting abilities b/c he keeps getting offers to be a head coach?? if anything it strengthens his argument...he just turned down tennessee; why would he go to UGA?

i live in Dallas...and to be honest with you I think muschamp is very sincere when he says he is the legit head coach in waiting...pretty sure it's in his contract...Austin is an amazing city..i think his family is really happy there..texas recruiting involves making a phone call and having a kid visit...sounds like a good situation to me

but i agree that rausco can't be considered a texas lean...they are recruiting him early cuz they know that is their best chance at getting him...really don't see how he could turn down being part of the 2011 class..hope robinson is next to commit
