Your just searching for possibilities. A&M can totally beat the Longhorns, but they will be a heavy underdog before the game starts. I'm not here to speculate so much as I am to get the favorites straightened out.

The Big 12 South is a race between Texas and Oklahoma. The winner of those two goes to the conference championship as a heavy favorite. If either of them can get through with a maximum of 1 loss (and depending on how the other conference champions look), they'll have a good shot at getting into the BSC Title Game.

One thing we can all tell by Rasco's early comments is that he wants to play for a football powerhouse that's close to home. This kid's been a high-profile prospect for over a year now, so hopefully his intentions are true and will remain consistent throughout his recruitment process.

Expect Oklahoma and Bama to be in the mix too.

Would anyone consider 2011 to be an epic failure if LSU doesnt secure the top class in 2011 with the amount of quality instate talent?

BTW, i would consider 2010 a HUGE success due to the lack of in state talent.

I think we will give him all the attention he wants and the other top guys in the state will be the closing factor in getting him to LSU.The LA guys are going to band together to put together a special bring LSU back to the top class.Just my opinion

I agree with this, and I agree more so in regards to the amount of pressure that is and will continue to be on these kids to fulfill the expectations that are prevalent across the state for this 2011 class.

If any of the top prospects in LA in 2011 try to pull a Trovon Reed, they're going to hear it from all directions and it's not going to stop until they either sign with LSU or leave the state.

I totally do expect that - I'm just going by what Rasco has stated thus far.

It's early and he could definitely open up his recruitment to stretch as far a Gay USC for all we know.

When the first Rivals rankings come out and Rasco can see the type of class we will have with the early commits, that may go a long way. Hopefully our big name early commits will help sell him on LSU.

Our quality in-state talent isn't actually ranked nationally yet, so we don't really know where we stand. I will say, though, that if we land the top 9-14 prospects in the state and don't finish as the #1 class, I'll be VERY happy with what we have.

Points-wise, the 2010 class is only either a 5-star + a 3-star or two 4-stars away from being equal (on paper) to our 2009 signing class. LSU's 2010 class is not only a huge success, but I think many people feel that we've gotten commitments from 9 or 10 prospects that were a bit underrated (and I'm judging this on their tape and on their offer lists).

I definitely agree with this, and I think this is the same for many top-notch out-of-state prospects as well - there will be many national recruits that will want on board. If we can combine all of our future promise with positive on-field results in the fall, we'll be sitting pretty/fierce with the type of class that UF had this year (or better, seeing as how we most likely already have three 5-stars committed).

I will say that LSU can have NO MORE of the type of scenarios that played-out in the Ole Miss game. While the refs let a couple extra seconds run off after Toliver's knee was down (one of those extra seconds gives us the time to spike the ball and win the game), that still looked awfully bad on television, and that WILL hurt us in the future if it continues to happen.

I do NOT want UT to get this kid. Period.

sorry dude, but he's gonna go there...hate to be negative but I think Evangel guys like going to UT over LSU...I know we've gotten our fair share but I gotta feeling if TX has a good year and we dont, he's gone...

I think the Robinson kid would be good to get a commit from...Id love it if Rasco pledged but wouldnt feel good till the papers are in...Muschamp wants him bad...

Rasco is considered an LSU lean over Texas, so there's no reason to be sorry about anything at this time.

- He's from LA
- He lives closer to Baton Rouge.
- He's a key part to our 2011 class, and he's expected to enroll at LSU.
- More people in the northwestern part of the state route for the Tigers than they do the Longhorns or the Razorbacks.
- LSU is in the SEC (most competitive and notable conference in college football).

LSU is favored and will continue to be favored until Rasco gives a verbal to another university...dude.

Do you have a link that suggests that? If you do, I'd love to see it, because I've heard from numerous people that Rasco is an LSU lean.

I honestly don't think our coaching staff is under the impression that they're making up ground on Rasco. The heavy part of his recruitment did not begin too long ago, and he's a LA prospect with the opportunity to join a stellar class.

I need links to publishes guys...not just chat and hearsay. I'm sure that's understandable and I'm not trying to be difficult.

what?

sometimes, there isn't a link. this was said on scout's chat last weekend with shea dixon, whos a managing editor there. he was asked about rasco, and revealed that coach dawson told him that muschamp has been outworking the lsu coaches so far.

but it's still early and obviously the lsu staff has time to get back into the position it once had with rasco.

eta: also, it was asked on tigerbait.com's weekly chat, and mike scarborough basically confirmed that it was what he had heard from talkign to people aroudn evangel.
