It’s not that they can’t close. The last few has been about closing an uphill battle. The UT’s and A&M’s of the world are recruiting guys in their backyards and just waiting until the last minute to read the market. When the recruit, in their backyard, starts pushing the narrative that they will go out of state they decide to give them an offer they will not turn down. Now, there is a season to play out so that could cause some flipping. All of this is not over. There will be bad seasons and coaching changes. Hopefully, LSU has a great year and the UT’s and A&M’s has turmoil l. None of this is over just hang in there.

From the aTm site.

One of the top offensive line prospects in greater Houston as well as the state of Texas, the 6-foot-4, 280-pounder chose Texas A&M over Texas and LSU.

In watching him on tape and in person, Ivy’s physicality immediately stands out. He’s a sound technician with strong, powerful hands that he uses to neutralize defenders. He’s also extremely explosive off the ball and moves around like someone much smaller than 280 pounds. He climbs to the second level as well as any offensive lineman in the state in this class.

Now apply this to LSU, Louisiana, Mack and McKinley. What leverage is being used against us? I know, I know! Money, right? Therein lies the concern with the current state of LSU recruiting and elite kids. We can't close enough whether the excuse is money(always the fallback), "we were never expected to win", "they just wanted OOS" or depth chart etc. Its an issue that is hopefully short term but it is an issue nonetheless. The 2 examples constantly used as evidence to the contrary are Perkins and Womack. The players aren't in question, the number is.

If Texas & Aggie ever get legit coaching, we'd have to worry

They'll have to worry every season about kids leaving

Let’s see, for aTm and UTx to get close to the number of NFL players, LSU has, they have to add both schools numbers. You have to combine both of those schools numbers.

You keep hearing UTx is back, only to fizzle. Same with aTm, last time they won a National Championship, Nazi Germany was attacking Poland. UTx and aTm, have done nothing near what LSU has done in the 2000’s. LSU has won three National Championships, with three different coaches.

I just look at every place Kelly has been and how he’s has to build a roster. I really don’t understand how anyone could question, as to what he’s done, within such a small timeframe.
