If he's going to talk about putting the fence up, he needs to keep players like Allen home. We could be in a real bind if a few LB's don't pick us by nsd.

And if they go 7-5 or 8-4 next year? Is that an appropriate time to panic?
If that's how we finish next season then we have bigger issues than recruiting. I am not saying everything will be great. I'm just trying to take a step back and look at this logically. With all of the uncertainty surrounding this past season there should be an expected rocky recruiting cycle. Don't think other programs haven't leveraged that to their advantage. I see no reason to believe our D won't still be exceptional. We lost 3 great players in Beckwith and Adams and White, but Devin White is LB that shows signs of being a difference maker we haven't seen in a long time. We have stud DBs galore and our new addition Stevens is an elite talent.
Our future is set at QB with Narcisse and Brennan so we can't complain about QB recruiting for a while. RB options were thin this class but Helaire may be a nice option with Canada's creative schemes. Next season RB will be a priority. We got the #1 JUCO WR, Netherly who many think is an under rated 3 star and a roster with some big fast WRs. We also added Deculcus who is a true OT and may challenge for playing time as a freshman.
With all of the chaos surrounding the program (coach change, QB change, injury to LF, OL injuries) we lost 4 games by a total of 23 points. 1 game was lost on an INT while driving for GW FG, 1 lost by 1 second on game clock and 1 lost on a goal line mis-communication.
I'm not saying we will be a contender next year, but I think reasonable fans will be very happy with the direction of the program going forward.

CEO is in the mix to end up landing a great LB class anyway.
You're right about that though. If we end up with one of Taylor, Phillips, or Gay and maybe chaisson or Bryant, that's a slam dunk after missing out on some of the homegrown lb talent.

Actually we do. His dad said as much on this board. He would be here as long as Les was still the coach.

Allen is not here because we fired Peveto. Would you rather keep Peveto to have Allen, or upgrade the coaching staff and find another linebacker?

He decommitted before Les was fired. His pops disappeared from the site and his mom got all butt hurt. Was not coming here.

You are correct. His dad, jrevonte, said Dylan would be at LSU as long as CLM was here but Dylan de committed while CLM was still here.
If you watch the interview from ESPN the magazine a few years back, his dad was in awe of Saban. I don't think Dylan ever planned on being an LSU Tiger. They are riding the Dylan meal ticket train headed to Bama then the NFL.
Good riddance.

The same entire staff that's been here since before O was hired full time?

Yes but you see the thing is they won't.

CEO and staff got dealt a tough hand IRT how this season and recruiting cycle unfolded. I applaud them for making the best of it, but it seems we have too many 'unknowns' heading into the next 5 days...too many NSD decisions that could leave LSU w/o signing 27, and w/o filling critical NEEDS at LB, RB and DL... Obviously hoping for the best, just being realistic. Class rankings are nice to see, but filling team NEEDS is more important IMO.

I agree. Thank God for Miles but none of them are Mile's recruits. They all could've left when O took over.

'm just trying to add some logic to the original post. The premise is if the team shows improvement this year, recruiting will be fine in the future and thus we should take a deep breath. It almost ignores the possibility that the team might not improve. I hope they improve, I actually think they do. But you can't just ignore the possibility they don't improve like it's impossible.
So why worry? You cant change shite about this team, so why go into panic about it? Football is, or at least should be, an escape. Why give it the same amount of anxiety that everyday life gives us?

Proactive panic draws negativity to you. Feel good. Smile. Presume we deserve the best.
