Class of 2010 scat back Lache Seastrunk (Temple, Texas/Temple) recently made an extensive unofficial visit to LSU and the Tigers are becoming more of a factor. here is another report from the Cincy Nike Combine verifying his #'s:

The top score of the day came from Princeton Quarterback Spencer Ware with a SPARQ rating of 115.86 . His marks of 4.25 in the shuttle, 37.5 inches in the vertical jump and 38 feet, 6 six inches in the power ball toss all ranked in the top 10 on the day in those categories, and his 4.72 40 was very impressive on the slow track.

I think the staff had not just Seastrunk but perhaps they also had Ware higher than Johnson on their board. Is this plausible: when Johnson wanted to commit, he was told to hold his verbal by the coaches because they wanted to see what, not just Seastrunk, but also what Ware would do. They then communicate to Ware, who likes LSU but is somewhat on the fence, and let him know they have another big back ready to commit and that if he wants a slot he needs to make up his mind and let them know if he is going to be a Tiger. So Ware thinks it over for a few days and then claims a spot.
Ware and Johnson both seem to be similar backs: big, athletic guys who have good field vision and acceleration through the seams; good north-south, between the tackles runners whose only drawback is a lack of pure breakaway speed. The real difference that I see between the two, just from the limited film I have seen, is that Ware has more shiftiness; more juke; quicker, better feet. A bit more electric.

I don't know much of anything about baseball, but is a guy who hits .310 in High School really a 1-3 round pick? I'm sure he's a superior athlete in the outfield and maybe a team would take a flier in a much later round, but on the surface that does not appear to be top draft pick material. Seems like most guys LSU recruits hit between .400-.600 in High School.

Yes, this explanation makes more sense than everything else, especially since Storm wasn't planning on more visits and Lache isn't against other RBs joining the class.

I'm so happy with this commitment. I was never sold on Storm. I think Ware is better and it's not even close. He can do so many things. He seems like CS with more potential because of his athletic ability.

Spencer Ware committed to LSU
He blows some people up too.
Near 13 minutes of film right here...

He's our best recruit of the season so far, imo.
At the :55 & 8:00 mark he is running away from Jordan Hicks(#32) who is considered a top 5 lb in class of 2010.
