Hope they cut a deal for him and his brother. Time for LSU to be ruthless in this business.

I would expect a signed LOI in the early period from Ishmael for that deal to occur.

That does present an interesting scenario. If Rodney wants to sign early, but Ishmael wants to wait until February, what should Coach O do?

Not really a ton to say. He, his brother, and their parents were there today, and all got the rock star treatment. Not only did O have both brothers working in drills, but he also had several current DL (Lawrence, Fehoko, etc...) working with Ishmael and showing him how it the lines would look if he came there. O had the full court press on all day with his parents, too. Momma really wants her baby close to home :), and O is working that angle hard. No commitment or anything, but the staff is very pleased with how the day went, and where we sit at the moment.

I know this site can have its share of skeptics, ungratefuls and trolls, but Id like to say I speak for the hardcore, good, albeit more subtle portion of Tiger fans by thanking you for your legit inside info. I know it is often a thankless job, but posters like yourself are the reason I enjoy this site, and visit as often as I do.

I know others had doubted you and called you out, and screw the vocal, obnoxious minority that did so - there are many more who simply lurk or rarely post that appreciate the content you bring.

Keep up the good work!

Some kids just want to go to a school that has the best chances of winning championships.... not going to a school to build towards championships.

And some of them want to go with the usurpers and take down the king. Surtain wanted to land in the cat bird seat and go the easy way. Good for him.. not a right or wrong answer there. Others like Thomas and apparently Stingley want to be the new kings and slay the dragon. It is all about perception and attitude.

Yes I appreciate it. The internet is a reflection of our world. There will be plenty of trolls, a...s, freaks and just flat out trash who hide behind keyboards and screens because they know deep down that they are lower than chiite. Then once in a while we get the good inside scoop.

Do the deal. We did it for the Fournettes. Heck, they did everything they could for that family. That is one recruitment where it became personal for Miles and the TAF and where LSU did get ruthless...if you know what I mean. We just have to be more selective since we can't get away with absolute murder like two or three schools to the east at the present time. But there are times we can and must. Sopsher is one of those cases.

So...if Rodney signs early and then Ishmael signs with Bama, do you keep Rodney?

I know this is different LOL but I remember Calipari signing Kendrick Perkins and his high school teammate to Memphis. Perkins instead entered the draft, and Cal gave the teammate a release. Would you be in favor of that?

Fans will soak it up

Don't think it will come to that. If so, oh well. It is one scholly. If they feel they need depth and he won't cut it he will be replaced by another HS'er or they go out get another transfer. Risk is part of the business.

Not all situations are the same. The vibe is better with Sopsher than it ever was with Smith. These guys are individuals, not just sheep herded into boxcars. There are things working in our favor that are not there with Lee and was not ever there with Smith. Just soak this in...this is the guy you sell out for...Smith and Lee were and are not. No guarantees of course. But saying Amite is in the bag for Alabama is jumping ahead to conclusions. Once again, let it all play out.

Certainly everyone wants the attention and admiration of the their family, friends and those in hometown. The ticket is being a star at your home state school. Why can’t these kids see this ? Not to mention future job and business opportunities in state if a star at lsu. The grass ain’t always greener. You either a fan of lsu or not. If you are a fan, a higher percentage of winning a championship at a rival school should not even move the meter on your decision.

Yes, you do the fricking deal! He wouldnt back out on his family AND you open up some sort of pipeline again with Amite

You do this deal all day every day. At some point momma will step in if LSU has her other son there.
