chavis did say that lorenzon was the best linebacker in the state coming back next year.

Where does this guy rank in the state? I don't see him on any watch list and cannot trust Dandy Don's rankings. Where does he rank compared to the 2 OLBs we have already picked up in Davis and Feist. The question becomes does LSU truly covet this guy? At the end of the day, if LSU wants him, I think LSU gets him.

It's hard to tell right now. Most of the LBs are HS DE's so it will depend on how people see them all separately against each other as prospects. He's talented and I think the offer this early means we definitely want him.We haven't offered Bourque yet so if Phillips has one then the coaches must want him.

What he needs to realize though is if LSU wants a kid in LA, they will more than likely win out against most other teams, and every time against A&M.

This was NOT the case before a guy by the name of Nick Saban rolled into Baton Rouge. Like it or not, Les Miles is not the recruiter Saban was. A&M improving in 2011 on 2010's record will go a long in solidifying some of the relationships Sherman seems to be developing with LA coaches.

In the last three signing days A&M has signed the following just on the defensive side of the ball:

2011

Deshazor Everett - Deridder, LA
Floyd Raven - Reserve, LA
Darzil Washington - Edgard, LA
Brandon Alexander - Brenham, TX (via Louisiana)

2010

Brandon Jackson - Shreveport, LA
Ivan Robinson - Longville, LA
Gavin Stansbury - Franklin, LA

2009

Jonathan Stewart - Shreveport, LA
Michael Lamothe - New Iberia, LA (now playing TE?)

To answer an earlier poster's question on why Sherman would looking east for talent when there's plenty in TX I have 2 theories. The first being that he's trying to get his foot in the door for the future. the second being the recent success with heavy TX recruiters like Okie Lite and Tech as well as a sudden (not to mention strong) presence from Missouri. A&M should (and is) take advantage of the talent in LA especially given its proximity to the Sabine River.

This statement does not hold water. And every player you listed went to A&M with no LSU offer in hand.

so why can't A&M get anybody that LSU wants still? Saban is long gone and Miles can throw last second offers at Jarrett Fobbs types and they shite on A&M to come to LSU.

First , Mayhaw Jelly is the shite

Second, no one on that list had an LSU offer in hand. Brandon Jackson and Floyd Raven were the closest to getting offers.

So enjoy our scraps, but Miles is recruiting just fine year in and year out. Also as long as we have frank that relationship he is building in LA doesn't mean squat. Frank is the most respected figure in LA hs Football.

Memphis is usually right but wrong here. Mayhawk Jelly, you are not awesome and basically an Aggie tool. there is so much fail in this post I won't even call you a Moron. now I do question whether you had an IEP in school though.

Les is as good as Saban at the recruiting game. Some bama knob posted an article on the sec rant a consensus poll That since 07 when Saban went to Bama, Bama averages a finish of 3 and Lsu 4 behind florida and Texas in recruiting. That statement is just blabbering and has no basis of fact.

Also A&M has no one on their roster that lsu wants or wanted. Memphis provides the best example; Fobbs. It's actually quite the opposite. Lsu is picking from your area in Houston. See Loston, Russell Shepard, Mike Brockers, Trevon Randle, etc. The list goes on...do us a favor and stay in your lane. 1 average season just means your not a doormat anymore. But your program and coach are still just average and nowhere remotely close to Lsu or les miles if being elite.

No one said A&M was currently outrecruiting LSU for recruits. And yes, it's true that A&M's season was their first decent season in a while. The simple fact is that Sherman is recruiting LSU harder than probably any coach has that's ever coached for any D1 program in the state of TX. In my opinion he's slowly starting to build bridges with some of the Louisiana coaching staffs by recruiting the way he's been recruitin LA the last 3 years. This year he's targeting quite a few. For example today is A&M's junior day and there are 3 Juniors there from the state of LA and that also happen to be top 20 LA players.

One more note on Sherm recruiting what another poster described as, for lack of a better term, second tier athletes I'll leave you with this. Two weeks ago Sherman signed a potential star from LA by the name of Floyd Raven. This year the Aggies are a heavy favorite to land his younger team mate, Darion Monroe.
