per some random email memphis received , LSU just offered.

FIFY

I was sent an email last night around 7pm saying we offered the two of them and that I should post it on TSD. First i asked why he didn't post it himself. Then I asked who he was, was he sure and how did he find out. He never answered the questions. So then I just forget about it and head to bed.

Well then Late last night a Text from someone oblivious to me says "Mario doin me" which I got a pretty good laugh at. So since I was awake I got back online to see if he ever emailed me and he had. He said DP has confirmed what he told me earlier.

Weird night to say the least.

I know :CSB:

these guys that a&m are going after, particularly east st john in the past few years and this year, and now these patterson guys, is this a connection that we should be hesitant of and try to end by trying to take some esj boys? or is it something that we shouldn't really be too worried about?

Patterson Six

This refers to the six players which are all pretty big prospects for 2012 and will all eventually play college football and helped lead Patterson to the state championship game last season:

Lorenzo Phillips LB : 6-2 210lbs
Jaydrick Declouet WR/ATH : 5-10 170lbs
Trevon Stuart DB/RB/ATH : 5-10 185lbs
Justice Jones QB/ATH : 6-1 185lbs
Tremaine Lightfoot LB : 6-1 215lbs
Deandre Skinner WR/TE : 6-4 205lbs (co2013)

and theres one more to keep an eye on:

Mark Jones WR/RB/Return Specialist : 5-9 175lbs
Raheem Griffin WR : 6-2 185lbs

I don't know if its simply that Sherman wants to go out of state more, or if he's being told to recruit to get ready for a move to the SEC (there are some pretty bad kept secrets floating around that a move will be made in June 2011, but that's a whole different thread and subject), but Sherman has hit Louisiana and Florida hard in the 2010-2012 recruiting classes. I've never seen us offer this many LA and FL kids.

Since last year, he landed:

Gavin Stansbury (LA)
Ivan Robinson (LA)
Patrick Lewis (LA)
Darzil Washington (LA)
Floyd Raven (LA)
Jonathan Stewart (LA)
Michael LaMothe (LA)
Brandon Jackson (LA)
Shaun Ward (FL)
Deuce Jenkins (FL)

and as far as this year goes, I know we have offered 3 Patterson, LA guys, 2 ESJ guys, Devante Bourque, and 2 other safeties from LA.

I have to think there is some rhyme and reason to hitting the southeast states as hard as he is doing.

He's also gone after some decent 3-4 star guys from South Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania FWIW.

WTF do you mean? That was the first weird text/email whatever I have ever discussed on here. You are creeping me out lately.

I am not completely sure he has been offered yet, but I think it is assumed he is going to be if he makes the trip with Lorenzo this weekend, if he hasn't already.

I understand TAM trying to recruit LA because there is some serious talent in the state but can you TAM guys answer me why you're only going after kids that are borderline LSU and not the major kids?It doesn't make sense to me with all the kids in Texas to go after that are at worst on the same level and most times better than the kids you guys go after from LA.Is Sherman's plan to go after some top guys in Texas and fill in the class with sleepers and worst case kids for other major schools?Basically the TCU/Boise plan. Not meant to be a confrontational question at all i am just really curious why you guys are sending 1st wave offers to kids that could be offered later and have the same chance of landing. Not completely talking about offers for this year but the kids from LA on that list. The kids you've offered this year actually are good to solid prospects but some are still puzzling with all the talent in Texas. Thanks to any of you that will attempt to explain this and not take the question as a flame.

Pretty good question. I have been wondering that myself.

It has to be more than sherman trying to get a foot in LA.
If he starts getting troublesome, Miles will just do what he did to Arkansas this year and cut his foot off.

its not like they're cleaning up the top of texas for 25 kids. i'd take the #20-30ish LA kids over borderline kids from any other state.
