Thank you.

We are talking the 4-star and 5-star players. I'm not necessarily buying into the star system always working out, but we've had a lot of Ranting this past 25 days [since the Collins announcement], and it has to do with high starred players, so...

Wendell Davis, Liffort Hobley wouldn't have surprised me [not sure we did that system that far back]. Both Josh and Abram Booty - yes [see beginning thread]. Fobbs was from two years ago. Prude from 2001. Not sure about Woodley or Bradshaw while in H.S.

Those that got away [other than Torshiro Davis]:
Jonathan Stewart **** TAMU
Tristen Ross **** Oklahoma
John David Booty ***** USC
Jonathon Wade **** TN
Chase Pittman **** TX [for a while]
Brock Berlin ***** FL

I see a lot more LSU swag in shreveport than any other school. I don't get how people make these assumptions.

That is the point I was getting at listening to the crowd reaction to Davis' speach. Go back to the link. Nice Speach - BTW. I guess I thought there'd be a split in support for LSU with the last minute change.

Maybe that crowd just loves the guy for what he is and what he's done for his school that they are happy for him wherever he chooses to go.

Toshiro Davis was a loss, folks.

Watched him play Haughton twice, and as I've said before he has the look of a great player but plays uninspired and if you didn't know he had the"stars", he isn't noticable on the field.

I'll make a prediction that you will see last years 2 star Dak Prescott from Haughton do more in the College game that Mr. Davis.

I am split on Shreveport. From my experiences there it just didn't feel as pro LSU as the rest of the state. Doesn't mean there aren't plenty of LSU fans there but there definitely seemed to be a different feel regarding LSU than other parts of the state.

bullshite. There are more sidewalk alum in south La. than there are in Shreveport. Most of the die hard LSU fans there actually graduated from LSU. I higher percentage than those fans from south Louisiana. And the reason is there are other school fanbases represented in Caddo parish, i.e. - Arkansas, UT, TAMU, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, etc.

Doesn't mean Shreveport LSU fans aren't any less passionate than others.

Wow! I feele like Rodney King. Can't we all get along? I was surprised by the crowd response.

Has nothing to do with Shreveport folks not supporting LSU, but the comments about the pushing and prodding IS happening somehow with these players and it is noticed.

Lets move on to the good class we've got to fill the holes we need for the next 3-4 years...

one point I'll make regarding Evangel.. they get a lot of "interest" from people in east Texas.. and some of their kids and scheduled games come with a handshake that the coaches will sway them toward UT/TAMU/TCU/Texas Tech after graduation.

also, not sure if it's been mentioned here, Arnaz Battle out of C.E. Byrd was ranked as a top 50 prospect in the country when he committed to Notre Dame in 1999.

I fish Toledo Bend around Many a lot and theres always people wearing LSU gear.
Even those working at the cafe's.

It borders Texas and rarely do you see Horn or Aggie fans.

Shreveport/Bossier loves LSU.
One of LSU's best Michael Brooks from Ruston 1983.

The sad part about the Toshiro situation is that he and his mother were apparently interviewed last night and said they were committed to LSU, but the article says differently.

"Davis said he made his decision two days ago after sitting down with his mother, Regina Shivers, and discussing the situation."

It's one thing to be uncommited, it's another to string along others. It's a weak choice to not call LSU 2 days ago and man up and tell the coaching staff his decision. Corey Thompson at least communicated to aTm what his intentions were and showed them respect. Losing him was a body blow, but one that our team can easily absorb. It's just sad because this whole scenario reeks of immaturity. According to other reports throughout the day, he fell in love with Austin and UT on his OV and it openned his eyes that there might be a big world outside LA. Then he lies about his commitment up until he announces and then never has the decency to inform LSU's staff who he has had a relationship with for over a year at this point. Immature move by an very good football player. Hopefully he grows up in Austin. Good luck to him.

Ferguson did not go to LSU for a simple reason. There were two great QBs in the state that year and they were not going to the same school. Mac choose Bert Jones over Ferfuson
