Should we stop recruiting for this year?

There are so many options for next year. Would it be a smart move to not add any other recruits for this year?

Need to keep going after Lache (homerun potential), Ego (need DL depth, that was a problem this year), and Reed/Wright/Fobbs (need WR depth, we're thin there too)
But yeah, for the most part I think we're definately turning serious attention to next year.

I wonder about Lache....I have doubts our offense is suited to his skill set.
Ego, wouldn't have a problem if we continue to push.
Receiver, I think we cap this year at one.

Kind of hard when we capped last year at one.

Yea, we need another WR in this class.

exactly... we need all the help at WR we can get... Randle is our best one, and Toliver starts as our #1, which ain't sayin' much...
our #3 will be one of these guys: Chris Tolliver, Jhyryn Taylor, John Williams... not exactly guys that will set the world on fire with their play.... depth at WR is a MAJOR concern for the upcoming season, and even if we get Alonzo Lewis and Brad Sylve to go with Landry, that won't solve anything THIS season...

Maybe that guy named Sheppard could be our 3. I wouldn't mind seeing John Williams catching some short routes with a lot of space.

I think people are a little too worried about the numbers next year, I think we'll end up signing 24-25 next year.

Sheppard will be too busy playing LB...
now, Shepard (one "p") i can't see them fully converting him to WR, and a #3 is a full time WR.... he'll get enough touches to be considered a #3 or whatever, but it's going to be mostly receiving out of the backfield on screens and motion out of the backfield...

I wouldn't stop recruiting just yet. FWIW, I think some USC recruits will become available in the next few days>

With attrition and injuries I say no. Spots will open for the 11 class. I wish we would stock more olinemen personally

we don't have a shot at any of them... the only one that Carroll leaving helps us out with is Seastrunk (he puts them out of the picture leaving Auburn, Oregon and LSU as possible destinations), but he's a long shot at this point anyway...
SC might not have too much attrition b/c of the Carroll situation... it still has a great tradition, tons of talent, easy conference, good track record, sunny california, hot girls, good academics...

I'm sorry but dl depth was not a problem this year....,ow the fact that miles chose not to play any of the younger guys, that is a problem.

Are the guys we are still going after this year worse than the guys that will be at the bottom of our commit list next year? Only thing I can think of is that if we do land the guys we are pursuing it might bring up playing time issues with potential recruits next year. But I don't think it would be smart to pass up some talented guys that can be on the team in a few months for some guys that might be on the team in a year. A lot can happen in a year, especially in terms of who the coaches might be.

This might be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this board...

I think that we should focus on trying to pick up Ego, and Fobbs and Wright.
