My opinion would be until the sources are out on were these reports on his character, or what the negatives are for him leaving we should definitely try to land him. He's a great player with elite speed for a DE

Ehh... I do not want Tim Williams, nor do I think we need him. First off, he doesnt have elite speed for a DE. KeKe Mingo had elite speed for a DE. Williams probably has solid speed for an SEC DE. But not elite. Plus, Williams is better suited for a 3-4 OLB rather than a 4-3 DE, which is what he plays at Bama.

And when we offered him, we were short handed at the DE spot and he had the chance to see a lot of PT early on. We were losing Mingo and Monty, Rasco was the only DE that was a lock to start. Thankfully, Danielle Hunter stepped up and brought his game to an entirely new level. But that was then. Now, we are solid at the DE spot for this year and the future. Hunter and Rasco this year. And we have guys like Bower, Patterson, Clark, Neal, Teuhema, etc. And we will be adding a few more in the 2015 class. We needed to add DEs with the 2013 class, and we did. Williams just wasnt part of it.

And we have no idea if he is good or not. He was a good prospect, sure. But hasnt done anything at Alabama for people to label him as a good player. Nobody knows. Hes made 3 total tackles at Alabama... And i dont really care what someone does in a spring game. Jonathan Rucker had 7 tackles in our spring game, Melvin Jones had 12 carries. Spring games dont really mean that much. If Bama was losing Devall... yea I would say they are losing a good and proven player. We have no idea what Williams is. And he was running with the 2nd teamers at Bama, before all the freshman arrived. And since he returned from suspension, hes been at the back of the line.

He had his chance to be at LSU. Something happened that caused us to cut ties with him. We were def interested in him for most of the time, but something happened a month before NSD that made Les change his mind about the kid and cut ties with him. And that is very much not a "Les Miles" thing to do. It has happened before, but typically when we offer someone we stick by that offer. Especially when the player offered is a high profiled player and top 5 in the state. But, something happened that that changed Les opinion about Tim Williams. I should also note that Tim Williams went to U-High, the same school that Les kids attend. Whatever happened, Les knew about it very quickly and was well aware of what went on. We decided to part ways with the kid and cut ties with him.

Doesnt matter anyways... was at practice today for Bama.

Might not be a situation that LSU wants to deal with

I said it in here during his recruitment and got crushed. LSU did not push for Williams.

Got told I was ignorant, that I couldn't be more wrong and to stop posting. Bunch of bullies

LSU secured Bower's "secret" commitment and they liked him better. There was also the chance that that Top DE from GA would be a commit to LSU. He only decided for U of GA on signing day. He was leaning to LSU but decided to stay in GA for his Mother.

LSU quit recruiting him in late OCT. The LSU coaches had cooled on him for some reason.

Williams visited the LSU coaches in Jan. the day before he committed to AL. They told him there was not any room for him. (IMO maybe because of Bower and the GA DE.) He called AL the next day and Saban accepted him.
