I seriously doubt that, imo. I mean it can't help but they have a reason this is happening.

Saban built LSU's program, these guys grew up watching him here. Then watching them dismantle us in the NC game+they're the hot offer in CFB right now. It doesn't help Saban has a lot of respect in Louisiana still...so he has his contacts and he is definitely hitting top recruits up faster than LSU. As you're starting to see mentioned in interviews. This ripple effect is starting to spill over. Especially when their program is at their highest point right now. I think the NC game was a bigger negative for LSU than positive.

Don't know how people can take it such as a negative considering we were the two best teams in the country and beat Bama earlier in the year. But it seems people have short memories and the mentality what have you done for me lately? And that is why Bama is the hot offer right now.

Damn Texas, scout your own under the radar kids.

I didn't know about Prevot until I saw that he had a LSU offer...it seems that the TX coaches stopped by his school a few weeks ago.

BTW, Bo Davis was an asst. coach at Galena Park North Shore HS so he knows his way around the Houston area.

I could care less if all these kids go to Alabama. They can all go and sit on the bench for 2-3 years or play immediately at LSU.
Saban is scouting Louisiana very well considering he still recruits 3-4 other states heavily. Very impressive and its scary how much love he is getting. This year I think we only let 1 top ten prospect go to Alabama.

It seems Saban has done a better job at recognizing talent early in Louisiana than LSU. A lot of recruits today seem to be mentioning he has been recruiting them the longest. That is a major problem on LSU's part if true.

I'm not sure it is specifically about recognizing talent more so than just saturating the talent. I think it is clear that Saban has made recruiting LA a #1 priority. I almost think he puts as much emphasis on it as he does the state of AL. By doing so, he makes progress on two fronts: 1) LA has great players; 2) hurts LSU, a conference rival

I think they have a legit shot at just more than Diarse leaving the state to Bama. I'd be most concerned with Williams right now. Smith/Williams are huge needs and supposedly Williams really likes Bama. A lot of rumors on Smith, no telling which ones are true...

I wish this staff could convince these kids about how Bama uses their "processing". They do it far worse than any school. You know Saban is thinking in his head, if this top LA recruit doesn't work out, oh the frick well. We'll process him and make sure he doesn't go to another SEC school since the coach decides where a transfer can go. Genius recruiting tactic on his part. Steal top LA recruits, get top talent, weaken his only competition in the West right now...

When is this going to start negative recruiting for Bama?

In terms of over-signing, they haven't done a show on Alabama yet so those casual fans have no clue.

To go a little further. What is Bama's #1 obstacle to dominance? LSU.

We play in the same division and are realistically the only team with a chance to take them down year to year.

How do you stop LSU? You tear down the fence around Louisiana. It's like 2 birds with 1 stone.

You get good players for your team while also hurting your number 1 competition.

It's really time someone emerged from la and carouled these recruits to represent the state university

I don't.
Many people I talk topeople who say they love LSU but find themselves talking gloom and doom.
That's a black eye on LSU and recruiting.
There are way too many positives about this program to run it in the ground, especially if you love LSU.

quote:

Saban built LSU's program
That program is gone. LSU stands on it's on merits now.
In this age of advanced competition due to changes in the way athletes are groomed and recruiting is done, I'd say LSU is holding their own.

Then watching them dismantle us in the NC game+they're the hot offer in CFB right now
That was 1 game. I think the LSU fans make more of this than most recruits and even fans of other teams.

All trends fade ...that is fact.

They lost to LSU during the season, this is not their highest point IMO, that happened when they beat Texas for the MNC. IMO

Absolutely, but more by our own fans.

I agree and that will change in time.
Alabama was a struggling team not that many years ago that no one feared.
They are beatable for sure.
LSU will prove that this year.

That's why OOS recruiting is vital to LSU's success.

Alabama doesn't rely on Alabama like LSU relies on Louisiana. They had like 8 kids from the state in this years class. They are used to splitting with Auburn and Florida St. so LSU going into their doesn't make a shite of difference to them.

Disagree. I don't think we should cede the state. I think #1 priority should be to double down on Louisiana and refortify the fence. Then I would start to look into east Texas and Mississippi. We are at a tipping point IMO to where we could start seeing the top guys leave the state similar to the 90's.

If we can't sell Williams from freaking UHigh where he plays with sons of our coaches and Beckwith a hop, skip, and a jump over from BR to come play instantly at DE for us (only Mingo, Rasco, Hunter, and Allen to compete with) over enrolling at Bama when 5 other Jack LBs (all top recruits) are already on campus while you can only put one on the field at the time, then our recruiting staff has a serious problem on its hands.

the negative publicity has an effect on these kids..
I hear it every time someone around me talks football.

They complain about CLM and have no idea why they are complaining.

It's like a ripple affect.

People need to start showing loyalty to LSU if they are really LSU fans.
BINGO......If you don't respect your lady, your kids won't either. We don't respect Miles nor some of our players. The kids(recruits) see that. On the other hand, that authoritarian guy a couple of states east is is looked at like a deity and the fans stand one hundred percent behind the program. Our kids inside our fence see that. Lets respect our program, stand behind LSU and we will mend our damaged fence.
