LSU holds a lot of confidence in its ability to pluck Sopsher out of Tangipahoa Parish.

Another notable defensive lineman is 4-star Mississippi prospect Nathan Pickering. will still take all five of his official visits in the fall. That includes LSU. Coach Ed Orgeron and Dennis Johnson, a Mississippi State native, informed Pickering that they intend on coming even harder for the All-American defensive end. His recruitment will be one worth monitoring through December.

Derek Stingley Jr., the No. 1 corner in the nation and a solid LSU verbal, believes the team is geared up and ready to make a run for the top class in the country come February. In speaking with the 5-star cornerback — who, by the way, had an interception in the Finals opening game — he believes LSU is in great shape with all of the team's top remaining targets. He mentioned prospects such as Trey Palmer, Noah Cain, Chester Kimbrough and Ishmael Sopsher, to name a few. Stingley has assumed a leadership role instantly after committing to Orgeron and Co. on June 20, and he along with Kardell Thomas and Marcel Brooks have emerged as prominent figures on the ground for the Tigers this recruiting cycle.

Speaking of Cain, I had a chance to resume chatting with the Baton Rouge native,

Those on the LSU side have John Emery Jr. and Cain atop the board for the 2019 class. Emery is tentatively planning to make a decision in August before his season opener, and it seems

Class of 2020 cornerback Elias Ricks has an early group of top schools that is headlined by LSU. Oregon and secondary coach Corey Raymond are in contact with the California standout on a near-daily basis, and a visit could come in August or in the fall.

Imagine how more confusing it would be if Orgeron actually was the coach at Oregon.

Apparently Sopsher has not been all that impressive. He ran a slow 40, and got beat by an Oklahoma QB in the medicine ball long toss. I still think he is a must get and a really good player, but he may fall in some rankings.

I don’t care how Sopsher performs in some drill in a t shirt and shorts. I care about how he performs in games and he’s pretty damn good there

Apparently you didn't see the videos of him going against 5-star O-lineman Kardell Thomas or the 5-star center that is committed to Alabama.

If you had of, you probably wouldn't be concerned about a medicine ball, even if he ate some of them.

Exactly. That's all I care about. Not one weekend doing some drills and some menial practice.
