Looked he’s the only big time prospect in Mississippi and Louisiana for the next few years. Is lsu going after him hard? I remember in elementary school a teacher and the disciplinarian Mr Funches had a son who played in the nba. Wondered if that’s his grand or great grand son. Kid looks legit.

Verbal commits says we have. Doubt we'll have a shot. Brandon Bass Jr is in that class and he's pretty highly rated but he goes to school in Florida.

Carlos Funchess played at ULM and is the women’s coach at Southern.

Carlos Funchess played at ULM, went to NCAA tournament- He & Anthony “Greyhound” Jones were awesome together, played Duke in tournament Duke was up like 47-42 at half, wore down ULM and won by like 29. Jones had 27pts POTG, C Latener had 22 11 4blks POTG. They won the whole tournament Duke had Hurley, Hill, Lang unbelievable team. Both Funches and Jones finished 1,2 in college dunk contest. Now I don’t know if they’re kin but Funches came from a Mississippi Jr college maybe Copiah. Have no idea if linked but he was 6’4.5” G/F and could jump out of gym, 46” vertical

His dad is 6’9” and played at murrah in Jackson and then signed with UCONN around 1994. I think he stayed all 4 years but only lightly contributed but he was a good high school player.

I was ball boy one year when those guys were there. Road bus with team from Monroe to Indianapolis and got destroyed by Purdue. Cool experience. The dude could sky.

He must have been a teammate of Ronnie Henderson at Murrah HS.
Come to think of it, I do seem to remember that there was a guy on that team who went to UConn.
Henderson was ANOTHER top flight basketball recruit that a lot of posters here think LSU can't get. That's 100% false.
