My team looks like this:
QB-Barry Brunetti (West Virginia)
RB-Eduardo Clements (Miami)
FB-soon to be chosen
WR-Kadron Boone (LSU)
WR-Paul Richardson (UCLA)
TE-Tyrone Williams (Ohio State)
OT-Sentreal Henderson (USC)
OG-Nick Rowland (Oregon)
C-Russell Bodine (North Carolina)
OG-Austin Shepard (Alabama)
OT-Evan Washington (LSU)
DE-Prince Shembo (Notre Dame)
DT-Jeffrey Whitaker (Auburn)
DT-Torrea Peterson (Oklahoma)
DE-Kony Ealy (Missouri)
OLB-Javorie Johnson (Maryland)
MLB-Austin Gray (Iowa)
OLB-Tahrick Peak (Virginia Tech)
CB-Ryan Ayers (Georgia Tech)
SS-Marc Deas (Florida State)
FS-Jordan Haden (Florida)
CB-Kacy Rodgers (Miami)
Just so happens 3/4 of my defensive backfield will play in Florida. Weird.
Okay, so I am trying to avoid doing any real work this afternoon so I did some statistical analysi of my team (I also created a spreadsheet so I can keep track of my time as they accumulate statistics and awards/honors throughotu college). Don't judge me.
Where my players come from:
Big East - 1
ACC - 7
SEC - 5
Pac-10 - 3
Big-10 - 2
Independent - 1
Big-12 - 2
Home States:
Tennessee - 1
Florida - 3
California - 1
Ohio - 1
Minnesota - 1
Arizona - 1
Virginia - 2
Georgia - 3
Texas - 3
Maryland - 3 (weird huh)
Missouri - 1
Michigan - 1
Sorry Louisiana
I used Rivals rankings:
5 star - 1 (offense)
4 star - 13 (6 offense, 7 defense)
3 star - 7 (3 offense, 4 defense)
Star average: 3.67
Rivals 100 players: 2 (one each offense and defense)
Rivals 250 players: 9 (5 offense and 4 defense)
Sooooooooooo yeah. some interesting trends. What did ya'll come up with? I'm curious to see our star rankings. I know Dan is going to rank us how he things which is cool too but I'm curious about trends in stars and the way the draft worked out for everyone.

Right.

You guys would never know.
Wrong.

I loved the Evan Hailes pick. I thought it was a steal at that point. Had he made it to me, I would be running a 4-3 instead of a 3-4. I did something similar to you. I looked at all of the Top 15 type programs and looked for guys that had offers, but chose lower ranked programs for whatever reason. That was also a good way to find some sleepers in the later rounds.
Nice team.

Yep, I pretty decided that's how I'd approach the last 8 or so rounds. Also trying to factor in coaches.

My opinion is you are better off taking the best guy at a lesser school than the 3rd or 4th rated tackle (substitute any position) at Texas or USC. That is why I am going to use my supplemental picks on guys that will find the field quick.

Whoops! I think more of us read your insight than you'd like to think!

You have some great stuff in those and it's definitely worth my time, even when I don't have time to put all of that up for each of my picks.

I also thougt that Hailes pick was a steal. He wasn't making it past me that round either. I wish I would have taken him the next round sooner. For some reason I thought someone had taken him but missed it when I double-checked who was available.
I also wanted to take guys that would see the field for at least 2-3 years. Some guys simply won't play enough. As you can see, I don't have too many people from "top programs" and the ones that are: Henderson, Haden, Shepard make a certain degree of sense to me.

Suntiger selects Dylan Bostick C out of Appalachian State.
Big kid with some decent mid-major offers and a two offers from lower tier BCS schools. Again, going for that big fish in a small pond.
QB – Stephen Kaiser (SMU)
RB – Lache Seastrunk (Oregon)
RB – Delans Griffin (Texas Tech)
WR – Trovon Reed (Auburn)
WR – De’on Long (West Virginia)
TE – Alex Welch (Notre Dame)
OT – Jawuan James (Tennessee)
OG – Quinton Spain (West Virginia)
C – Dylan Bostick (Appalachian State)
OG – Roszell Gayden (Auburn)
OT – Darryl Williams (Oklahoma)
DE – Christian Jones (Florida State)
DT – Jibreel Black (Michigan)
DT – Ashton Dorsey (Texas)
DE – Corey Crawford (Clemson)
LB – Josh Shirley (UCLA)
LB – Scott McVey (Ohio State)
LB – Jamaal Bass (Northern Illinois)
CB – Mylan Hicks (Michigan State)
CB – Eric Bennett (ArKansas)
FS – Greg Dent (Florida State)
SS – Josh Furman (Michigan)
I really wanted to build around an athletic defense which I think I have with Dorsey, McVey, Dent, Hicks, C. Jones and Shirley. I have to say though, I looove my offense. I'd stack my line up against anyone elses and I have a thunder and lightining combination at RB with a really underrated QB to deliver the ball to my skill guys.
ETA: Conference Breakdown
SEC: 4
Big 11: 4
Big 12: 3
ACC: 3
Pac 10: 2
Big East: 2
MAC: 1
Conf. USA: 1
Independent: 1
SoCon (FCS): 1

jembeurt selects Mustafa Greene, RB
LINK
LINK
After most of the top RBs went, I made it a point to wait a while to grab one. After looking through most of the low end guys, I noticed Greene.
Rated as the fifth best downhill runner by rivals, he video is really good. The "one cut" running style will be perfect in my offense, especially with the Oline I have assembled.
The only problem with him, and I believe this is the reason he was rated so low, was he could be injury prone because of his running style. Bottom line, he stays healthy, and with the depth chart ahead of him, he has a chance to accrue some really great stats over a long period of time.
With my fullback, Maurice Hagens, in front, he would have absolutely no problems tearing through defenses. Fictionally, of course.
OFFENSE
QB: Tyler Bray
RB: Mustafa Greene
FB: Maurice Hagens
WR: Dyjuan Lewis
WR: Anthony Creesy
TE: Trent Smiley
OT: James Hurst
OG: Erik Kohler
OC: Alex Hill
OG: Johnnie Farms
OT: Chaz Green
DEFENSE
DE: Jacques Smith
DT: Carlton Martin
DT: Josh Watson
DE: Jordan Allen
LB: Kevin Pierre-Louis
MLB: Justin Parker
LB: Travis Williams
CB: Robert Woods
SS: Chris Badger
FS: Theron Norman
CB: Toney Hurd Jr.
I really love both of my lines. My offense does not have a lot of flash, but they are sitting real pretty depth chart wise. Both receivers, Greene, and Hagens look to get plenty of playing time. Not to mention Bray, who could very well start as a true frosh with all of the mess going on at UT.
On defense, my LBs are super athletic and all have size. Getting Parker as late as I did was amazing, and really helped my draft out. As far as my DBs, half of the field is shut down by Woods, with the other half not far behind with Hurd Jr. I got one ballhawking FS in Norman, who could see PT VERY early. Badger I really loved, because I wanted a SS with range but who could knock you oot. Watch his video. When he hits you, YOU STOP.
As much as I love my team, I actually have my eye on a couple of guys in the supplemental draft, so it will be interesting who I pick up and who I have to drop.

Nick Parker, Ole Piss
I don't think anybody was picking RB this round. Hope I didn't mess that up. I still like this guy.

Flask: With my 22nd pick, I select Houston Bates.
(picture)
Ht:6'3"
Wt:240 lbs
40:4.7 secs
Bench Max:340
Squat Max:480
Shuttle:4.3
Vertical:29 inches
This monster athlete is one of the most versatile players on the field. He projects at FB/LB/DE normally, but there is no way that I could let someone as untalented as this go undrafted. He received honors as a member of the All state first team and was a crowd favorite among all fans of college football. His recruitment was a heated battle with major football powerhouses battling for his signature on signing day. Bates draws comparisons to Ronnie Lott, Joe Montana and Brett Favre. The kid has a motor that won't stop and he will be playing on sundays in the future. Book it.
(I'm sure Flask wanted me to put a picture, but I thought it was better the way it was.)
