Do you throw back someone of the same position or of equal value by which round they were picked in? If you do it by value, won't some people be left without guys at certain positions?

I am a major supporter of throwing players back in the pool.

If we have to throw players out it creates the same problem that we are fixing with the supplementary draft.

Aldo, it will even out the quality discrepancies from first to last, making it a less unfair addition.

I am drunk but I can still see that. Why would anyone not want that? Can we get a vote on this?

I think it only works if you throw back by position. Otherwise, you will create holes at positions trying to play the "rounds" game.

Obviously, you throw back the player at the position you replaced.

I think when you choose you have to replace someone of the same position that you intend them to hold on your roster (DT for DT and OG for OG for example)

Then the play you throw out to replace goes into the pool and someone behind you can choose from that person.

We'll just say "I am replacing Austin Gray with Jeff Luc" for example and then you take out Jeff Luc's name and put Austin Gray at the bottom.

Sound good?

Yeah, the two main points to this are:

1) If you do it position for position, you have a less fair dynamic. For instance, if I were to have the top pick, of course I'd throw back Preston Brown to get Jeff Luc. However, it makes more sense from a Logistics stand point.

2) If you do it round for round then you frick up the logistics but end up with a much tougher decision making process. Do I want to give up Markeith Ambles for a guy picked in the 2nd round, for example?

But the 2nd way would make the logistics nearly impossible to figure.

Couple of addenda:

-IF we go with the swapping players method - should you be forced to drop your BEST player at the position to acquire someone new? For example, let's say I wanted Darius White, would I be required to drop Ambles? Or just any player at the position?

-Someone pick, dammit. We still need to finish this regular draft.

Delvin Jones - OLB/DE (Ole Miss)
6'6, 230
4.6 40yd

From a physical standpoint, he has a skill set that only a few players every year. He runs really well for his size, he’s explosive, a great athlete, strong, everything.

As a defensive end, he wins because he’s so explosive off the ball and is able to beat opposing tackles right off the bat with his quickness upfield. I'm running a 3-4 defense and I think he is a great fit.

I'm on the bubble about just adding 2 roster spots or swapping players. I see both sides and can't decide yet, but if we do swap players I like having to swap for the top drafted player at that position. Only problem with that is a decision will have to be made does that cover all OL or specific to a position? All LBs or OLB and ILB? If it is specific ESPN and Rivals has some positions listed differently. What is to say I don't pick a guy that would normally play OT but I drafted OT in the 4th and 7th rounds but drafted Gs in the 19th and 22nd rounds and say I want him at G?

Because of the complexities that you mentioned, I think this is not a feasible solution. Whatever we decide, it needs to be simple and leave no opportunity for second guessing and/or bitching. I think we either simply add the 2 spots are give back a guy from the same position regardless of round. The 'returned' players become eligible again. It would not surprise me to see some folks pass on the 2nd pick and stand pat.

If we had to let go of our drafted players to pick another one, I would not be surprised to see some teams not pick up any players at all. Especially the teams at the end of the Supp. round.

I was in favor of future seasons having 25 rounds with 3 bench spots that you can use for whatever you wish. You want to add more defensive players, have at it. Offensive line help ok. You decided there is an outstanding kicker or punter or return man that could best help your team ok.

So the more I think about it and the complexities mentioned, I would be in favor of extending this draft for another 3 rounds to equally 25 players per team. With 22 teams that would equal 550 players taken. If 2 people decide not to come back for future drafts and we got down to 20 teams that would be 500 players taken which I think would be ideal.

As for future starting times for drafts, we started this one on 2/26. I say we start every year on 2/26 so it always starts on my birthday. Seriously though my vote is for the day after (or less than a week after) NSD.

Another factor:

-IF we do the throw back option... you DON'T HAVE to pick a new player.

I say pick up TWO players and be done with it.

Really guys it is not that hard. There is no prize money involved, no trophy (unless you lowlifes want to throw one in). Only bragging rights. I absolutely LOVE my team. But in saying this, I would also like to add additional players to it.

Hell, there are players that are not on the "Enfuegoed" teams that I still would want on my roster. I could not select them because I was full at those particular positions. If the Enfuegoed players are taken by my pick, I will be glad to find someone from the uncountable list of athletes to choose from.

Not that difficult, boys.

You can't be serious! I'm not even sure I'll get Brad Wing at this point.

Although this helps me out the least. Lets keep the players we have and just draft two supplemental rounds.

Just like a-holes, everyone's got an opinion on this . You make the call, and we will all live with it and move on. Maybe then we can get back to making picks. The pace has really slowed the last little while.
