GCB selects OLB Nduka Onyeali

Well my most recent pick was between a D-lineman and an LB. Perhaps I chose wrong.
Backers are getting snatched up left and right now. And I personally don't feel like it was the best year at that position but I could be wrong.

With my 11th round pick, TheHiddenFlask chooses:
JIMMY GJERE
Ht:6'7"
Wt:275 lbs
Has excellent height and overall body structure. His frame will easily hold another 30 to 40 pounds. Has similar size and build as Wisconsin offensive tackle Jake Bscherer at the same age.
He is very nimble on his feet and has one of the best frames of any lineman in the nation. Gjere is an all-around good athlete, as he also plays varsity hockey and baseball.
A definite redshirt as he learns all the intricacies of pass blocking, but I believe he has tremendous long-term potential because he is smart and very athletic for his size. Those are traits you cannot teach. His career may start off slow, but if he takes to football all year-round he could become a beast.
A major steal, I think. I'm pretty happy to finally lock down my OT's. This guy will be a solid RT.

nice pick.
Thanks, I actually didn't have anyone planned to pick for this round, so I just went gem hunting and found this guy. He's very athletic and I value that pretty highly in an OT.

Absolutely. I like both your tackles.

DAAAAAMMMMNNN IT!!! Seth Betancourt or Gjere were my next picks and I wasn't sure if either would make it back to me. So close.
Good pick though.

It appears that we weaned out the lazy drafters.
The pace is picking up.
It would be fun to file this away and see who gets drafted out of our group and what-not. awards and such.
Also would be fun to go ahead and set up a strict system (with qualified and participating posters) to do a draft for 2011.

Good points.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Last night TIGER PHANATICK text me wanting to draft WR Anthony Jefferson from UCLA.
My dumb arse thought he was talking about Tony Jefferson, former UCLA commit that switched to OU. So I told him he was taken. After two more people inquired about potentially drafting him, I began to wonder why the hell everyone thought Tony Jefferson was still available.
This post is to say that DB KEANON LOWE is back in the pool and WR ANTHONY JEFFERSON is off the board. I will update the sheets, but it was my mistake.

I gave Dan a link to a sheet that we can use to track it regardless of how we choose to score it.
2010 Recruiting Mock Draft Score Card
Start giving scoring ideas so that we can chew on them. I am thinking something like:
Each year as a full time starter - 1 pt
Each year as a 2nd team All Conf - 2 pts
Each year as a 1st team All Conf - 3 pts
Each year as a 2nd team All American - 4 pts
Each year as a 1st team All American - 5 pts
Drafted to the NFL - x bonus pts
Awards - x bonus pts

Looks like it took a lot of work

Not too bad. 45 minutes and about 10,000 copy and pastes.

Games suspended deduct 1 point Or any negative press towards school ie Janzen Jackson.
Early entrance into the draft? not sure that can be a positive or a negative.
If the player is found in any illegal recruitment ei. Akiem Hicks then that should be negative 5 points.
Transfer school - -1pt.
medical redshirt - -1 shows sign of wear and tear.

Yeah, that's why I was confused.
