Does anybody know where he will go in the Draft. My personal opinion is if you do not go in the First Round you may be pissing a lot of money away.

I think we saw the RB during the Cotton Bowl. Spencer Ware!

Even if he had decided to stay, he still wouldn't have been a first round draft pick.

He might go somewhere in the 3rd round at best. He'll be a good NFL back though. His running style is built for the NFL.

The right decision for him, and I wish him all the best. The kid really did his thing for LSU.

We gain a scholly, and as we saw in the Cotton Bowl, we won't miss a beat with Ware and Ford back there.

So, now we are up to a whole THREE actual schollies left (one open, Drayton leaving, Ridley)

It is a weak year for RBs. The only sure-fire first rounder in the draft this year is Mark Ingram.

After that you have Ryan Williams of Virginia Tech, Mikel Leshoure from Illinois, Shane Vereen from Cal, and Daniel Thomas from Kansas State - all of whom are projected to go in the 2nd-3rd rounds.

I would think Ridley would fall right in there with that group.

And frankly, he's the best "big" back of that group. Obviously, I think Ingram is the best back. Ridley might be the next best "big" guy.

What do you mean by this? We are still limited to the 23. This wouldn't have any affect on that

good luck Ridley! he did better at LSU than most thought when we signed him. at least we hav bookoo talent n backfield coming back!
i wouldn't expect him 2 geaux n top 3 rounds but maybe a great combine/pro-day can bump him up higher.... i hope

kind of surprising, but i guess he can't really improve his stock a whole lot by returning and like someonee else mentioned the rb situation this year afforded him a prime opportunity.. hope he does well in the combine and i wish him well, he represented lsu well while he was here

It affects the 85, not the 23. We can still only bring in 23, but that is one player who is currently on the team we can keep now.

I think we only have like 11 players who are leaving this team.

Sucks. I feel bad for Calhoun. We just couldn't find a use for him on offense, switched him to corner, and he got passed by a bunch of younger players.

Bummer. Best of luck to him.

That's right, my bad. This is only a one year restriction right?

I thought it was two, but I could be wrong about that.

Yes but it doesn't open up any extra scholarships. It just means less that must leave. And it's at 83 w/ the sanctions. With Ridley and Calhoun out. We are at 9 players that will have to leave if we bring in 23.
