Emmett Randle sounds like the dad of Venus and Serena Williams.

It seems like Randle may want to come to LSU but his dad just is against it.

It seems that is plausible. The question remains: WHY would a man from Louisiana NOT want his son to go to LSU???

I can understand wanting him to go somewhere else for academic reasons, but this is LSU! This is the Harvard of Football!

When has Randle been crying? We've heard his dad talk, I've seen nothing to suggest Randle is the one who has a problem going to LSU.

After this crap, I honestly dont want him. There are 50-60 players on scholarship at LSU; one of them should not get to dictate to the coaches what happens with 1 or more of the other ones.

Go where you think a starting job will be handed to you without your having to compete for it.

The NFL will be like that too- refuse to play for the team that drafts you if you dont think you can come in and start from day 1.

What a wonderful lesson that is to teach your kid.

What is wrong with you people? Get over yourselves. You don't know why these players are making the decisions they are making unless they absolutely come out and say it. On top of that, why does anyone have to make a decision on your timetable?

I posted this in another thread, but I'll post it again on here.

These are kids making the biggest decision of their life to this point. Not all will make the right decision tomorrow. Some will go to LSU that shouldn't. Some won't that should. But it's not our decision to make. Sure we can comment, but we shouldn't judge.

If a parent is pushing their child one way, that's their right. They've raised their child and to hell with anyone that is going to tell me where my child should go to school. Just respect all decisions and leave it at that.

And remember, not all kids grow up bleeding purple and gold. They don't owe you, me, LSU, Louisiana, or any of the fans on this site anything. If they choose to go somewhere other than LSU, wish them luck, tiger bait em, and then celebrate those that decide to represent our school.

What? Putting receivers in the NFL? or winning national titles after top recruits leave the state?

Which trend are you referring to?

He is probably a Grambling fan...Grambling fans in NE Louisiana tend to dwell in the past(30 plus years ago) when they got all the talent that LSU gets today.

That's bullshite. Sure it's their right, but that doesn't make it right.

...and ignore the fact that their dad just threw the LSU coaching staff under the bus on the radio.

Generally speaking, if you want what's best for your child in the long run - financially and professionally and socially - going to the state school is the best choice.

If you deceive the state school, bad mouth the state school, then go elsewhere, you deserve every negative thing that is said about you. They played the game, and have to deal with the consequences of the game. Should they be beaten with a stick? Of course not. But if LSU fans say bad things about them or refuse to give them jobs or professional opportunities down the road, then that's part of the game that they have to deal with. It's part of the decision and part of the game that they are willingly participating in.

Maybe he's not a fan of the coaching staff, and using the depth chart thing as a reason as to why he doesn't want his boy playing for LM.

To me it sounds like this might be the case, thus the possible delayed decision. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen anything coming from RR himself, that would indicate him being afraid of the depth chart situation.

I honestly can't believe some the shite I'm reading on here. He is NOT your son, and you are NOT him. It's his decision....and if the man who has raised him for 18 years wants to push him to another school, I don't think anyone on here can say a damn thing about it.

I will do my best to push my kid to go to LSU. I spent the first 25 years of my life in BR. I grew up bleeding purple and gold...but some have not. Respect that. And grow up.

ROBERT LANE - This situation (based on Sr. Randle's comments) reminds me a little of the year Jamarcus Russell committed to the Tigers and Lane switched his commitment to Ole Miss. We all know how that worked out.

Mr. Randle: There is no depth chart issue IF your son can earn the starting role. No excuses necessary, you either want to be a Tiger or you don't.

How am I not respecting their decision by saying I disagree with their decision? Define respect please...

They have every right to decide for themselves where RR will go to school. There's nothing you or I can say that will change or affect that decision. So how is analyzing that decision as an outsider showing a lack or respect? It's part of it all I guess is my point. When you become a politician or public figure (like an athlete), you willingly choose to subject yourself to scrutiny. It comes with the territory. It seems to me that you are implying there should never be any scrutiny?

How the hell do you know that RR has played any game? He's said from day one he doesn't know where he wants to go and he'll announce on signing day. If he still doesn't know, he still doesn't know. And if he decides to wait another day to sign to make the right decision for himself, that's his right.

If he does announce to come to LSU, some of you owe some huge apologies to RR.

Have to agree. People on here looking out for what they think is best for LSU football, and Mr. Randle is looking out for what he thinks is best for his son.

Because you're making some wild accusations at this point which could be completely baseless. And really, you have no idea what RR really wants to do and what kind of pressure the people closest to him are putting on him. Or maybe they're not. You're not him and you're not there with him. I just don't see how you can say you respect their decision when one hasn't been made and when you are saying stuff like this.
