Lilly Lippeatt is at national team camp right now and is looking great
Some huge upgrades are in the works right now. Prob will be sent out on an international assignment this coming season.

Without having to read thru 47 pages can we get a list of expected signees by year, their rankings, etc. and top recruits and odds of signing them?

The very first post of the thread has every commit and a bio for them, highlighting their strengths and what they bring. Also includes different accomplishments. I will add Kaytlyn Johnson soon for 2021 class soon
There is no such thing as rankings in gymnastics recruiting for individuals gymnasts. But there is a class ranking right as kids enter campus.
The senior class this year was ranked the #1 class when they were freshmen. We’ve had top 5 classes every year except for this 2018 class because we only added 2 kids, one being a walk on.
If you want to look at it from a star standpoint like football. An international elite would be 4 or 5 star recruits

The walk-on Rebecca D'Antonio may be another of those hidden gems that DD and Jay locate every couple of years. Seems she really began to blow up this summer after dealing with injuries for a few years. Is there a possible place for her in the lineup or will this be a redshirt year while she continues to get stronger and recover from her injuries.

I think Rebecca needs a little more time but she has crazy amount of potential on beam. She wlll see her opportunities.
I think she can become a great beam worker for LSU in the future. Not sold she will ever be used in the bars line up. Floor has potential but beam looks to be the event she can really contribute too
She had some nice vaults this fall

Does anyone know if Ferrer will be on campus and compete at 101 next Monday?

Ferrer gets to campus this week at the end of the week, Saturday?
Not 100% sure if she is competing for 101. Usually we have intersquads the night before for a position in the meet that Monday night.

Looks like she miss this one then. I can’t wait to see her!

Do we know who is expected to be showcased on each event at Gym 101 on Monday Dec 11?

Should be the main core from last season that returned
Durante and Dean on beam
Edwards on floor
Not 100% sure if Ferrer is competing, don't see why not considering she gets to LSU this Saturday. Normally they have an inter squad the night before the meet to claim those last spots in the lineup for this meet.

US Junior National team member Konnor McClain has cut her list of schools to LSU, Florida, UCLA and Auburn
McClain has visited LSU, UCLA and Florida so far
UCLA and LSU seem to be the two favorites early on here

Glad LSU is in the mix and daring to hope Konnor will choose the purple and gold.

I love that Ferrer competes a double Arabian half out which is so tough and should get more credit than a full in, which is what it will surely get called should she compete it.

Honestly it seems like she lands the Arabian half out better than just a normal double Arabian. She makes it look easy.
Looking forward to 101 and seeing how some of the new routines look in front of a live crowd.

I’m curious to see if the new beam pause deduction is applied. Such a bizarre issue to address, when so many other areas need attention first imo
Posted on 12/10/18 at 10:23 am to BunnieGene
I am sure it will be addressed at certain meets and ignored at others and in some meets ignored for only one team and heavily used on the other. It really is ridiculous to pick this one thing to focus on when there are so many other issues in the judging.
You know who would never have gotten that deduction? Hambrick. I never saw a gymnast go into her major elements so quickly. There was practically zero waiting going into her flight series.
And the one who would be most penalized would have been Courville. I think I went to the bathroom when she set up for her arabian and came back right as she did the skill.
