You know the drill. It's that point when we all get under our desk, in the fetal position and wait for the nuke on our recruiting class.

I'm not sure my dude. I missed one day on here and all of a sudden we're doomed.

Everyone is already starting to get into panic mode. Exactly one week away I guess it makes sense

This will be the bullshite narrative floating around after we finish 7-10 in the composite rankings this year. But that doesn't account for the fact that Orgeron was here for the entire cycle for these kids he's missing on. This isn't like a normal situation where a coach walks in blind to a school in December and then tries to build relationships in 2 months. He and the staff were here the whole time, they just failed across the board where the LB are concerned. And if he loses Wilson, that's an even bigger indictment considering it was his position and he's been on the kid forever.

This post is just plain ignorant. When you are a position coach, whether you are the recruiting coordinator or not, you do WHAT YOU ARE frickING TOLD. You target who the DC and head coach settle on. They set the board. You are selling their agenda, philosophy, and system.

As an interim, you are just holding your fingers in the fricking damn and keeping things as intact as possible for the next staff, whoever that is. You can tell kids that will be you, but they will know there is a possibility that it won't be.

As a new head coach, everything is different. Just look how the defensive recruiting board, especially for LBs changed from the time O was hired until now. They basically dropped a couple of guys they had shots at who at least had interest to pursue others, some of whom they weren't even in on before. That has ABSOUTELY NO relation to what O was doing as a position coach 6 months to a year ago.

It's hard to believe that some of you who act like you follow recruiting and know what's going on can't grasp this. Just damn.

I'll concede that the screw ups under Miles have thrown the LB position into chaos, and Orgeron isn't fully responsible for that. But losing Mathis and Wilson would be. You can't tell me they haven't been on those kids full throttle since the start, and a big part of the allure of the hire was that O would win those type of battles. If both those kids go elsewhere, might as well have Brick Haley back on staff. Lots of consideration, little results.
