Thanks for the info.

The old USC defensive coordinator is at the top of the list even though he's likely to join Clay Helton's staff for that position. Dave Aranda the Wisconsin DC, is a candidate too and would jump at the offer if he received it. Bo Pelini's name has come up too but i doubt he leaves a HC gig to be a coordinator

Sounds like a good sample size

Just sayin. Might be too early to write an obit. Anybody familiar with Etling knows there is a potential upside.

Very well stated.
Acknowledged the fluidity of recruiting and didn't make many definitive statements that could be true now but change with the thoughts of an 18yr old.

Michael Divinity- will commit next week. Opened up his spot for another player to commit at the game because he wanted a few more days to think. LSU is the favorite, but he is still considering A&M
Michael Divinity would say otherwise.

Still can't get head around Manuel. No one outside this board (really) sees him going LSU. Most even see FSU as his #2!

His stats at Purdue say otherwise
Would you expect a true freshman starter on a very bad team to have great stats?

What about his sophomore year when he sucked?

Etling also started 5 games as a sophomore before being pulled because he was bad.

Actually we have four QB's that have talent to start in college but Jennings is rumored to be transferring.

I think I understand. Etling sucks. LSU qb recruiting sucks. LSU offense is doomed. We are all gonna die.
Did I miss anything?
Personally I think Harris will blow up next year and we should have at least two and maybe three capable qb's in reserve with another likely to be added in the next month. I understand that the Flippy saga probably demoralized you, but I see it as an opportunity to get a kid at the end who could be a baller and a starter in 2018 and beyond.

Whoa there, chill out.
I was merely responding to the people who are saying Etling is the best QB on the roster.
Personally I think Harris is the best option we have and next year he should improve.

And I'm just saying I am relieved as hell we have Etling on the roster. And just not in the mood to say he "sucks" when in fact he played on two truly horrible Purdue teams and was thrown to the wolves as a freshman.

The fact that people are arguing over Etling is laughable.

Has Haskins scheduled an LSU visit yet?

What they hell man? That's not even a sample size to gauge anything. How are you even trying to compare situations?
You are comparing a backup freshman getting what amounts to less than 4 passes a game, to Etling who threw 429 passes as a freshman and sophomore (15 less passes in only 8 games as a freshman that Harris threw in 12 games this year as a sophomore) for 2400 yards at around 55% completion averaging less than 6 yards per attempt with 16 TDs to 12 ints.
Hopefully Etling can improve, but there is enough sample size to at least think he's another Rob Bolden type transfer.
