Recruiting Suggestions

Get with a recruiting service or guru, have a film made of only your junior and senior highlights, no longer than 5 minutes, and mail copies to the recruiting coordinator, position coach and head coach. Send to schools at three levels. If the recruiting gurus think you are I-AA, then send to several lower tier I-A schools, lots of I-AA schools and several D-II schools. It takes time, but send emails to them letting them know the DVD's are coming and give a link to the highlight video too. Don't just do the video yourself, because recruiters are not looking for what you are looking at when you watch your video. For example, you may be a QB who ran well in high school, but you are really a pocket passer. If you show that 30 yd TD run which looked great in High School, the recruiters will look at it and say "wow, he's slow" and toss your video. Best plays first, because they will watch about 2 min, then if they like it, the rest.

Dont do anything until you speak with his coaches first. The kid may have academic, attiude, injuries, or health concerns.

If he couldnt afford to attend camps or wasnt personally invited, then he shouldnt be penalized. Especially, if he was an all state running back.
