I think of the 3 years, this is my favorite team I've drafted.
I feel like I have minimal "Fall out" guys. It wouldn't surprise me if everyone I drafted contributed in some manner (not saying they will all be great, but I think they will all actually play at some point).
I also have a lot more expected early contributors than I've had in the past.
J.C. Coleman is my favorite player.

Yeah I really wanted him. You took the wind out of my sails. I was for sure everybody had missed him.
I had been watching round after round and went wr went on a run late in the draft i was for sure he was gone. But he made it and then your arse gets him. I am throwing up in my mouth.

Ummmm, you obviously haven't seen Walking Dead.
I'm just worried about his speed and whether he has a knee injury or not.

I gotta say, I love that your profile is still decked out in Dee Hart swag.

Its me being lazy. I had three players i wanted to draft and change it up. But they kept getting swacked.
So I am still waiting to see who my team is and then selecting my fav player.
I am not really good with that stuff anyways. So I may have to find someone fark something for me.

Not trying to seem like a wet blanket, but I'm still trying to figure out what is the purpose of these drafts.
From the outside, they seem completely irredeemable.
It's actually appears more useless than the day-dreamers who play NFL fantasy football because those guys at least actually get to compete with the guys they drafted, sometimes for a monetary prize if not trivial bragging rights among buds.
But here, there's not even a "5 years later" kind-of-thread where at least bragging rights could be attained like "I had 9 of my guys make all-conference teams, 5 of those all-americans, and 2 that went on to be first round picks!!!"
Instead, these threads seem to become 100+ pages of fruitless selections & irretrievable time/effort that appear destined for internet obscurity with no fore-seen pay-off.
What am I missing here? Is there a secret fantasy H.S. league someone set up? It's got to be more than just passing idle time for funzies, right?

For me, it's mostly for learning about players and trying to have a little fun picking guys that will be superstars.....or at least trying to

It's cool to learn about other players going to other schools. It's cool to find a sleeper or two.
It may not be your cup of tea, but there's 25 or so other people on here that enjoy it.

If you look at who is participating in this draft, you'll notice its posters who actually tend to have real info and are not knuckleheads. Via association alone one should be able to see its far from a bad thing. Its not for everyone, but those invloved truely enjoy it and the fact that most return year after year speaks for itself. The increase in knowledge base is nice

I will be the first to tell i cant explain thsi to anyone what we spend 2 - 3 months working on. But its is fun and I feverishly look forward to it.
Not only from the perspectives that you mentioned but i actaully create this tema on my NCAA in July and play with them under a made up team name. just for fun.
Also it gives me more incentative to watch the all american games.
But on Satursdays when LSU arent playing i look for my kids to see hwo they are coming along adn developing. I loveed it when Randall McKay was playing last year. Or watching Roy Finch play against Texas in the River River Shootout. And Of Course to have Kenny Hillard coem in and play as a freshman gave the right of passage i was looking for. I picked him becuase of the screw up with Dee Hart. He was no. 2 rb on my big board.

This is only our third one. And trust me, we hear enough about how BCF took Cam Newton with the last pick of the second round or how mdgtiger took Tyrann Mathieu in the 5th.
HOWEVER...
It's purely an educational thing for me. I research the recruits and get good info from other posters. I had no idea Howie Long had a son in JUCO who is a pitcher and was recruited as an OT this year (but I know now thanks to Dan) or anything about Duke's running back situation (but I know now because of Jembeurt)
Also, I get to see if I was right or wrong. Plus, it gives you something else to watch for. I would have never cared about tOSU's linebacker situation, but now I do because I drafted Scott McVey two years ago. Same goes for UNC's defensive backfield the next few years.
Most people watch recruiting that applies to their school and the "big name" recruits. This draft has exposed me to a lot more information and my view of recruiting has change a lot.
That's all I can give you Freek. It's a major learning experience trying to play ameture college scout.

Entertainment purposes only. We have kicked around different ideas for scoring systems, but they are really too much trouble....and there is really no "right" way to do it.

We post the drafts online via Google docs, so they live on forever.

I disagree. I am one of the "day-dreamers" who has played fantasy football for 20+ years, and this is more fun IMO. Not for everyone, but very enjoyable to the guys who are doing it.

This is only year 3 of the RMD. Give it a chance. We will be talking all kinds of shite this year. Many of the 2010 guys had RS seasons, and are just coming into their own.

QB Thomas Sirk
I just snagged the steal of the draft. Sirk only played QB his senior year, but was recently listed in the 30's of the Top 100 Florida Scout list, which means he is more of a 4 star. In camps he has run a 4.5 40 and set bench press records. He is an early enrollee at Duke and some Duke fans feel he starts as a freshman. The best part is his film. Its not game film, but film of a private workout. He has Top 10 NFL draft pick written all over him. Watch the video if you dont believe me. I almost took him in round 6, but I figured he would fall so took a risk on Lindquist while knowing I have a pretty solid backup plan.

Damn, Sirk is the real deal. I would say how does Duke get a Florida QB like him when LSU (& Bama) are begging for legit talents like him at QB. But looking over his offer list, he passed over some decent SEC, ACC, PAC-12 offers just to play for Duke, so there is something else driving him, and it's probably his major.
To the other guys that answered my post, I get it now. It's a worthwhile communal journey of knowledge-expansion & discovery, outside of the realm of Tiger prospects.
I technically do this on my own over time after signing day by going signee-by-signee looking at footage through all the SEC classes, and "some selected top schools" in the Big 10, Pac-10, Big 12, & ACC saying "Oh this 5-star will be a bust" or "Why is this kid a 3-star? He has Pro potential written all over him!" But I don't usually "waste time" on the bottom half of conferences or with the Dukes & Tulsas, etc.. of CFB, whereas you guys in conjuction can web out everywhere in order to find gems like Sirk just to outdo each other. So I get the appeal to this now.
Can I view the past two years Google docs? Linky?

I watched parts of it, and he looks the part. I will keep an eye on him.....Let's see how he throws with defenders in the screen before anointing him a pro!!! Oh yeah, he is in the ACC. There might not be defenders in the screen very often.

It could be his major, but I have a feeling that its the head coach who coached two future NFL HOF's when they were in college. After watching the Elite 11 things on ESPN, there is no doubt in my mind Sirk would have been among them if he hadnt been a safety until his senior year.
