22 wasn’t about talent evaluation other then maybe with portal guys. It was about keeping whoever they could from the class in the boat and finding a couple of others who were interested enough to hear them out. That’s how the first class is for any new staff, especially with ESD being only a few weeks after they are hired.

The best thing to do for Sloan and Hankton is to hire an analyst to be the Run Game Coordinator and help them. We have a QB Specialist and a WR Specialist in charge of the offense. It doesn’t look like either of them knows how to be more creative with the run beyond a few wrinkles, so find someone who is.
Bring in a former HC or OC who is looking for a some career rehab and let them help to adapt the playbook and ad some variety to our run scheme. We saw how much bringing in the right guy helped Ensminger with the passing game in 2019. Take the same approach with the run game here. We don’t have an on-field spot available like we did for Brady, but an analyst will do for what we need.
