Yes he is seeming very McKnight-like. I believe the biggest negative for Randle right now is that he is considered the #1 recruit. This is messing with his mind and will cause him to consider leaving the state to be different from the common every-day in-state recruits that always go to LSU. I always enjoy hearing their lame excuses as to why they chose one school over another, like Academics. I don't mind losing him to anyone but 'Bama.

I got a friend who's dad manages the Johnny's Pizza in Bastrop and Randle came in about a week or so ago and said lsu or bama.

I doubt Randle will be at LSU. If he wanted to go to LSU, he'd tell someone. Now, if he wasn't going to LSU and he didn't want to put up with all the crap that came with going to another school, he should be very tight-lipped on where he is going and wait till signing day to announce.

Julio Jones did almost exactly the same thing last year. Some guys just keep a bit more quiet. I prefer a guy like that than somebody who names a new favorite each week or says I'm committed but everyone still has a shot. He seems to be very mature considering his age and the amount of attention that is on him.

Chad Jones didn't commit until NSD

anyone listen to Tom Luginbill on Finescum? He said Bama is leading for RR and has a chance to get 6 of the top 20 ESPN recruits. I knew he was a douche bag and Bama homer but what gives with this guy.

He's a douche bag and a Bama homer. You really answered your own question.

I wouldn't hate him for going to Bama, but he would become the most hated Bama player on an already hated Bama team. Most LSU fans would be very pissed if he chose Bama over LSU. If it was a better situation it would make since, but it isn't. He is going to go where he wants, but he has got to know going to Bama is going to be horrible when he visits LA.

Well, he may be a douche bag, but he isn't making shite up.
ESPN's new top 20
1 Matt Barkley QB 6'3" 222 CA 93 USC

4 Dre Kirkpatrick CB 6'2" 180 AL 92 None
5 Jacobbi McDaniel DT 6'0" 267 FL 91 Florida State
6 Trent Richardson RB 5'11" 219 FL 91 Alabama
7 Craig Loston S 6'2" 193 TX 90 LSU

9 Jelani Jenkins OLB 6'1" 210 MD 87 None
10 Rueben Randle WR 6'3" 195 LA 86 None
11 Garrett Gilbert QB 6'4" 195 TX 86 Texas
12 D.J. Fluker OT 6'7" 325 AL 86 Alabama

So, were looking at possibly getting Kirkpatrick, Richardson, Randle, Fluker, Johnson, and Reid has backed off Florida some supposedly and is looking at us and Georgia now, scheduled an official with us already.
That's three committed, one considered a lock, one a 50/50, and one a long shot (but still a chance).

Why would it be that bad for him to go to Bama. Ya'll act like the guy is obligated to go to LSU or something.
Posted on 1/8/09 at 3:50 pm to guttata
Because LSU fans love Louisiana(me included) and we love nothing more than for the state's top players to represent their home state at LSU

It wouldn't necessarily be bad. But it wouldn't be the best choice for him either. You can argue LSU vs Bama all you want but if you look at 1)QB's on the roster and 2)the offensive coaching at both schools then LSU wins that battle hands down. If he were a defensive player then it would make much more sense for him. If he were a RB then it may make sense. But he is a WR who would be run blocking 75% of the time and would end up sharing catches with Julio the other 25% of the time. It's just not a good situation. But he's been extremely quiet so I have no way of knowing if he realizes this or not.

Then by your same reasoning Shep coming to LSU is also not a good situation for him. If he goes to Texas he becomes the immediate frontrunner for qb. At LSU he is sitting behind a true sophmore and won't be the full-time starter until his senior year, possibly.
