like you Vol, but that whole Quad story was a definite plus for this board.
It gave a whole lot of us guys, who have no real insights to how the recruiting world works and its day to day emotional roller coaster, a little view into that world.
You don’t end up at Georgia State if the stories were true

You were pretty disparaging towards LSU. I would think that the best thing you could do is distance yourself as far from future recruits as you can, for their sake.
If the recruit was getting all the attention you described, then something cooled the programs on him. Or the attention never was there.
There is a local guy here who mentioned to me that multiple players on a local team have 'offers' from Bama and LSU. He is a coach at this school. I have not seen a single one of these players mentioned as a SEC level recruit. Not saying he is lying, but sometimes I feel as if handlers or coaches misinterpret the actions of a program when the program is just being nice and polite.

Anyone bashing Vol, and defending CoachJ in this thread obviously didn't fully follow the Quad thread.
I don't think a single person here wishes anything bad for Quad. However, CoachJ was a terrible person. I'm sure he hurt Quad's recruitment more than anything.
We were told he had offers all over the place, including Bama. We were told Quad was better than Winston in high school. LSU was blasted by this douche, after courting Quad some (probably just a courtesy).
And Quad ends up at Georgia Whatever University. Good luck to Quad, but CoachJ is scum.

I didn’t follow it. And although I check in to recruiting occasionally I don’t know anyone but LSU recruits or kids we are interested in.

It was a truly golden thread. It started out as a thread with CoachJ trying to get a player noticed. The ball kind of started rolling, and some posters began catching on and calling him out. Of course, they were ridiculed because they all fell for CoachJ's crap.
By the end of the thread CoachJ fed so much BS, then had a total meltdown (then later blamed it on someone else being on his account).
It was a roller coaster. Bottom line, CoachJ should probably not be around any recruits. There were reports from LSU people here that he was a pain in the arse. And his behavior here pretty much confirmed it.

I had a close relative who was a D1 QB recruit. The amount of mail they get, even from high level schools is insane. A phone call nor visit equals an offer. Hell even an “offer” isn’t always an offer. It can be conditional

Calera went 1-9 in 6A.
Central Phenix City went 14-0 in 7A.
It was sad to see how much coachj was ruining a kid's future just to get himself some recognition. Seems like quad made a good decision in the end - go somewhere that you can play, live in atlanta/close to home, not follow coachj to his prep school, still get a free tuition at a good school to play football.
