I think this shows that Les realizes this recruiting class is critical to LSU sustaining a championship level program.
A California QB would not have been in play in past years.
Whether people want to admit it or not, the 2012 recruiting class was not of the level of previous classes (albeit did fill some holes).
I think Hayden will be one of several surprise gets from outside of Louisiana this year.

Congrats. Rettig is a much better prospect than Riley Ferguson or Jeremy Johnson.

After watching the video here is what I think:
Likes:
1. Good accuracy
2. able to throw under pressure
3. has the physical size to compete at any level
4. looks to throw first but knows when to tuck and go
5. ability to throw on the run
6. gets the ball out quickly
Dislikes:
1. shotgun high school system
**homer edit: He does everything good. haha**

I watched an interview on Rivals and he said that he will be an early enrollee.
We may not have to wait until signing day...

What video are you watching?
I added another video.
Kid is putting zip on the ball across his body.

Kid looks legit at least as far as having all the tools and not being a project as far as high school QB's go. Pleasant surprise. He actually looks like exactly what we needed in a QB.
/obligatory hope this sticks

Rettig is very crisp and efficient in everything he does. Has been well schooled on the fundamentals of the position.

I definitely like that he can throw on the run... I really feel like I was nitpicking. I couldnt just put that I didnt like the system he ran... haha

Definitely a major perk with a QB for sure.

I'll be cautiously optimistic about this one until he is actually enrolled on campus. It just seems too random and too far away. We'll see.

I see UCLA or USC hasn't offered, per Rivals. Any worries of a late offer from either and him changing?
Posted on 5/22/12 at 9:08 am to ehidal1
USC already has a pro style player on lock down.

Always a worry. Especially if he is using his commitment as leverage...

So he played 2 games before blowing out his knee last year. To answer your earlier question Prom.
