Paul Jones is not viewed as a dual threat guy. He is a pro-style qb.

RP, MF, and JR were arguably all dual threat QBs. Mauck was a run first guy when we first saw him in 2001 but mixed it up with deep passes by 2003

Interesting. If Mett goes pro after this year, who knows, this could be our starting QB in 2013 (the job would certainly be wide open next spring between him, Rivers, and Randall).

I thought it was very interesting what it said on his Rivals page (as a recruit). Off to the right-hand side of that page, they mention other recruits a player is most similar to.

Yeah, it sounds like many people think he has a great chance to be their starter this year. I'm not sure he would transfer into a situation where he will be guaranteed to be a backup.

No confirmed source is reporting this. Just someone I know who claims to know this is true. I said in the OP that I couldn't confirm this in any way. Just was wondering if anyone had heard the same. We will see what happens I guess.
