We need to start winning these H2H recruiting battles with Alabama.
Hopefully he picks the good guys.

Yep I like reading this part that is for sure!

At this stage, I remain strongly confident that Surtain picks LSU. The Tigers have made both Surtain and Kelvin Joseph priorities in this 2018 recruiting class as plug-and-play prospects. My gut suggests it will play out as the LSU staff expects it to on Signing Day.

Sounds like good news. To be honest though, I don’t know that I trust Spiegs or his “sources” all that much.

Why is that ? He is one of the best around here. We do win our share or recruting battles with the evil empire. We win as many as we lose . Now that we are getting the big uglies to come here things will be different. Got to win up front. For years we have had all the best playmakers but nobody blocked , so they had no space to do their thing.

I love Joseph as a prospect but how in any way is he a plug and play guy year 1?
Safety is arguably the deepest position on the roster next season.

He's big and physical. Can play nickel, safety, CB... he might not start but theres a lot of spots open. Both Jackson and Toliver are gone, Battle is not guaranteed his spot, Vincent isnt guaranteed nickel.

He broke down the reasons for why he’d choose either school.
On Alabama: “Just the culture, the winning culture and I feel like I could ball there, as well.”
On LSU: “Just because of my relationship and my Louisiana ties with my family being there. Me and [defensive backs] Coach [Corey] Raymond, we’ve got a great relationship and I feel like I can ball and have a great influence on Louisiana, too.”
I'm probably reading too much between the lines, but notice he says "I could" ball at Alabama,... as opposed to "I can" ball at LSU.
