His 247 rating is a 81, which is great for punter, but other services haven’t ranked him yet, that is why there is no composite ranking. Shea explained it that is just a placeholder number on him now, when he has composite no. LSU s composite score will be near 93 again. Really good class so far, will end up being ELITE class on signing day. Geaux Tigahs

Bama doesn’t give scholarships to kickers and punters. We see how well that has worked out.

He is the best punter to come out of Louisiana since Donnie Jones and he is best best player West Monroe has on defense. He not only boom punts, but he will makes plays on returns at 6'5" 220lbs.

When fans were bitching about Todd dropping 247 avg. my mind drifted back to Wing and how he won the game vs Alabama.
It made me wonder about the lack of value placed on punters.

I agree that punters and kickers are under valued.
The rating issue derives from:
1) it is hard to project success from level to level
2) Thus even the Pros will only draft on day 3 if at all.
3) 247, in particular, tries to make their rating match the draft so they can not rate punters or kickers as likely draft choices(i.e. 4 or 5 star).

A good punter is definitely worth a scholarship. shite, I’d probably give up two schollies if the kid is as good as Braden Mann was for A&M.

For those too young to remember, research Donnie Jones. Fantastic punter and weapon.

If Alabama does give scholarships to kickers, they are not getting their money’s worth. Their kicking game historically sucks.
