I can honestly say I don’t know much about this kid besides he won a state title in 6A Alabama which is against impressive competition. Does anyone see him having a shot at playing time one day (not this season) over Brennan or Finley and Max Johnson? I would think it’s Brennan after Burrow graduates and then I believe Max Johnson ends up beating TJ Finley out.

I could see him get time at goal line read option next year. He could spell Burrow so he doesnt take the big hit.

Seems smart, disciplined like Jalen Hurts. I could definitely see some situations in which he could play

I bet Joe Brady the RPO guru could figure something out. I think he was responsible for the taysom hill packages too so he’ll find something for him. Also Parrish is a winner.

I hope I’m wrong, but this just feels like a Justin McMillian situation.

Reading the reports from camps, he’s got a hell of an arm and throws a nice spiral

I don't think he's even remotely comparable to McMillan. McMillan had very obvious limitations.

Parrish looks very similar to Hurts, to me. But I think at this stage of his career he's got better arm talent than Hurts. Parrish didn't throw much, but that seems to be the offense he was in more than anything. The times he did throw, I thought his passes looked pretty good, nice arm strength and accuracy.

I don't see them using anyone in a goal line package next year, as I feel Burrow can run just as well as Parrish and putting Parrish in will limit our passing options.

I know the big thing in college now is to have a dual threat qb to run RPOs and the spread but our best our best offenses of the last decade have come from a pure pocket passer like Flynn, Mauk and Mettenberger. With the talent we have a WR and RB I think I prefer a big, strong qb that’s smart and accurate to sit in the pocket and get the ball to the playmakers. Bama has always operated better with a pocket passer until Tua arrived and to be truthful he’s one too. Tua really only runs as a last resort.

Meanwhile I think Sophser played against 2A competition and looked average at times against that.

Parrish will be better than Brennan once Brady gets a hold of him.

Pretty sure he ran a 2 QB system in high school so he shouldn’t be upset about not playing right away or splitting reps after Burrow.

The AL 6A game showed a young man that not on!y managed the game, but had very good passing skills and was very mobile.

He controlled the game. A man in charge!

I don't think this is actually true. At least, in the championship game, Parrish never came out.

No you are correct there won’t be special plays for other qbs next year. Burrow will not come out of the game unless he’s hurt because he runs better than he throws. I’m excited about Burrow next year, he really started to get things going at the end of the year. All those reports about he has a weak arm are unfounded. He looked like he had plenty of arm strength and touch on his passes when he had time throw.

Who the frick knows? Did you think a scrub like Jefferson would be the starter over all our four star receivers? Who thought a run of the mill four star like Greedy Williams would beat out the two five star corners in that class?

Neither Flynn nor Mauck were a “pure pocket passer.” Mauck became a little more that way after injury only, but could still move if needed.
