Just saw Demon Clowney (Ik this isn’t a flip or anyone we wanted @ the end) signed with Ole Miss today. Does anyone know how that is possible or what the situation is here?

It's not.

He either signed in December and just announced it, someone is misreporting it, or you're misunderstanding what you're seeing.

Ole Miss football tweeted that he was signed today and tagged him, which I understand is impermissible until signed. And 247 has his signed date as today.

Maybe he signed in December and kept the lid on it?

Lol. Yeah. I just checked out their Twitter. That IS very confusing. Sorry for my tone earlier.

I guess all those guys signed in December and wanted to announce on they official visits. Can't say I've ever seen anything like that before. It's actually kind of cool.

Just strange that he committed to them only a few days ago as well. The tandem of Ole Miss/Kiffin bending rules isn’t surprising, the blatant-ness is

When did Kiffin become the coach?

It's not bending the rules. There's nothing that says commitments have to be made public.

The only way it would be against the rules would be if Clowney let himself be recruited by other programs after he signed. Once a recruit has signed a letter of intent, he is obligated to disclose this to any coach who tries to recruit him.

But I'm sure all the coaches have access to the information of who has actually signed. The signed letters are all submitted to the conference.

Is he an EE? If so, it's the same thing as signing a LOI. The first day of classes for them was like Tues, and there's even more time to register and add classes.

This..I think you can still early enroll without actually signing your Grant in aid paperwork. There is something the athlete signs, but it isn’t binding like the scholarship papers.
He signed paper to be a full time student. His aide paperwork will be signed and sent in on 2/05.
This is some Joey Freshwater smoke and mirrors to get people looking. Get use to it.

This. EE's have to enroll in school which is defacto signing with a school.

Lane Kiffin twitter beat up the NCAA until they allowed him to send a LOI outside the signing window.
