Great news about K.J. Malone!

Someone earlier asked if it was for football only-that appears likely. But we know Trent Johnson can use as much help as possible.

Malone refusing to get on the court with Johnson is giving me a case of deja vu.

interesting. must be based solely on his height. i would have expected him to have the football to put him on the edge

Wrong. They're 1A

ETA: I've seen this kid play a few times and I wasn't overly impressed. He does have the size however. Obviously they've seen something I haven't but I don't expect too much from him.

Still not listed with commits on 247. Do they only update once per week or something?

Was in Ruston over the weekend and didn't leave until late this morning.

LSU fans really need to welcome Karl with open arms. The Tech fans are really pissed that K.J. committed to LSU. They are delusional enough to have thought he was going to Tech even though he was getting offers from SEC schools.

They played an interview they had taped in BR at the Spring game with Karl around 8:30. They teased the listeners by saying, "What was Karl Malone doing on the sidelines at LSU's spring game?" If they ever get it into their podcast file, I'll link it.

Karl talked about how great a job LSU did to let K.J. know exactly what they expected from him and what playing football and going to LSU would be like. He said other schools around the country need to look how LSU runs things because they have it down. He told the Tech guy interviewing him he would still support Tech and be a Tech fan but he'll also be an LSU fan now.

The people in Ruston are saying some pretty crazy stuff now on the Local ESPN Radio Facebook page.

quote:

Am i the only person who noticed Karl's absence at men's games this year? Maybe his buddy Rupp getting fired had a bit to do with this? Biggest question is...is Tech REALLY loosing out here?

quote:

Actually no. The only thing predictable in this thing was if KJ were going to baton rouge, the attempts to make Louisiana Tech look bad were pretty predictable, hence this posting

quote:

HAHA! Anything coming out of Cedar Creek is pretty lame athletically. Moving right along.

quote:

I think he's overrated as a lineman. He seems to slow to play in Tech's offense. He should fit right in with the big ugglies down south.

They don't want K.J. or Karl any more so we need to give them a hug.

His commitment also opens up his dad's pocket book. Not knocking the kid's skills at all. Just making a point.
