Why do you say that?
You obviously weren't here when this board was awesome. There were about 8 Randle threads on the first page yesterday morning. Lots of them had repeat info, stupid posts and some were actually hostile towards other posters and the family. This is here to try and make the board a more enjoyable place than it has been since the rant spilled over.
What's the point in posting negative crap when that's not what the thread's about?

The first post in this thread alone is well worth a sticky. Great summation of everything actually known and there most likely won't be any real new info until signing day.

Not sure if this has been posted. It was on the Bamaonline website today. Take it for what it's worth...
"Our office managing partner, is the past treasurer of TAF (our tide pride equivalent). Big time in the LSU program, travels with the team, got hand written letter from Saban in their NC year (which he subsequently wrote him a letter telling him he no longer needed his thanks, and returned the ball). Real nice guy, just super die hard. Came over to me this morning wanting to congratulate me, on Ruben Randle. I asked for what, he said he heard from 2 people that RR was pretty much a Bama Lock. Talked to 2 separate people, 1 past TAF president (Don Bohn, the Jay Barker of NO except for 90% of all ford dealerships), and a guy from Plaquemines that said that Randle is Bama Bound."

Thanks for puttin that here Chewy. This is the kinda thing that a lot of people would start a thread over. And then proceed to argue.
First we have to consider the source (Bamaonline). They are absolutely notorious for starting rumors.
Second, by all accounts from people in the know who have actually talked to the schools involved it's not locked up by any means and Bama may very well have slipped to third. This past week reports have been that they don't feel good about their position at all anymore. Take that FWIW.

Gotta agree. I would guess Randle would be a lock to each of Alabama, LSU, Miami, and Choklahoma at least 2-3 times a week between now and signing day. That's fine as long as he is a LSU lock on signing day.

Should be a major factor. the kid can line up opposite TT and start immediately. Plus we have a freshman QB who has played well and will be in the mix for the next 3 years.
Plus we have RS who will take some of the heat off him.
Plus we have an entire state that will embrace him like a member of the family.
Sounds like a no brainer to me, but no one knows until NSD.

Yeah I haven't decided what Lafell's decision means for Randle.
I lean towards it not mattering too terrible much.
Even if Lafell stayed, Randle would have the opportunity to work his way into serious playing time and wouldn't have all of the pressure on him.
Apparently Miles discussed the playbook in-depth on the in-home visit and the number of 3 wide plays really impressed him.

I don't know who said that stuff about Randle and I have no idea if it's even remotely true or not. I will say this though, BOL is no different than the LSU websites IMO. All of them are drinking the kool-aid and think that they're respective teams will get all of the top notch recruits. BOL was right about most of their predictions last year (they missed on a few but for the most part, they were right on).
Some of the BOL posters are crazy and delusional but Tim Watts and the other guys do not start the rumors.
When all is said and done, Randle will go to LSU IMO.

rolltide, I said in my first post that this site is reliable for starting rumors too. I singled out BOL because that's what Chewy brought to the table there.
