Maybe that Bama pass rush scared Gunner away. Brian Kelly is a better QB coach with Les as well. All this means is Rivers will likely play 2014 & 2015 is anybody's guess.

Where is the confirmation either from Kiel, LSU or ND?. Anything else is rumor and innuendo (not that I've much doubt)

LSU currently has 35 active players in the NFL, ND has 21. You're right, LSU's program has ascended the past 10 years or so, while the ND program has descended.
But back to my point.
The original poster was comparing Kiel's decision to passing up a free ride to Harvard so he could attend ULL. That comment was ridiculous. Comparing the difference between ND's football program and LSU's football, to the difference between Harvard's academic program and ULL's academic program is simply ABSURD.
My god, the kid chose to stay close to home and go to ND. Can you really fault him. If he's good, then Brian Kelly will get him to the next level. Not like LSU's #1 rated QBs really panned out. See Russell and Perilioux. At least Brady Quinn and Jimmy Clausen are holding clipboards in the NFL.

notre dame is a VERY good institution academically .. a degree from notre dame gets you in doors nationwide .. yeah, the harvard/ULL comparison was a little over the top .. but notre dame's academics are held in higher esteem than ours is at LSU ..

If a kid is influenced by a message board then he may not have mental strength to handle pressure. All boards have fans that attack kids when they don't committ/ play poorly, it is not just a TD issue. The main difference is chicken gives us more freedom to express our opinions where sites like tidefans whacks post and bans person for any opinion that isn't positive. Play well you are seen as a hero among LSU faithful, Herb, Kevin, Rohan, Matt, and many others are seen this way.
