I wonder what tune you guys would be singing if he had signed with LSU..and while I am at it..Good luck with Coach John "OLD THIRD AND LONG" Chavis...You guys are gonna LOVE that mustang package..LOL...Pat on John on the back and thank him for that 2001 SECCG.."We weren't prepared for the quarterback draw"..John Chavis made Matt Mauck a LSU legend..Enjoy!..

9 out of the 14 years he was at UT his defense was ranked in the top 3, in the toughest football conference in the nation.
However, your remarks don't surprise me coming from a Vol. Keep in mind that as Kiffin continues to piss folks off and fire coaches who've been long time supporters of UT, things will get tougher for him.
Take the orange glasses off for just a minute sport, Kiffin is digging a hole for himself and your university. For UT's sake you better hope he has a winning season this year. Otherwise he'll simply be known as someone who's mouth overloaded his arse.

For you info..Chavis PADDED his stats during the month of NOVEMBER..when we had the MURDERER'S ROW schedule of Memphis,South Carolina or Ole Miss, Kentucky and Vanderbilt..Chavis has ONE STYLE..Bend but don't break...Don't get me wrong..Chavis had teams that if you just wanted to LINE UP AND RUN RIGHT AT THEM..You couldn't do it..But teams with MIS-DIRECTION give him fits..And the passing teams?..You will wanna jump off a bridge down there somewhere..He will bring pressure for the first two downs and then have his db's play 10 yards off the WR's...They will run to the first down marker and there won't be a DB within 10 yards..And we have had some db's that weren't EVEN drafted to make it in the NFL..I have always thought FULMER pulled the stings with Chavis...PLAY NOT TO LOSE..DON"T PLAY TO WIN...We will see though..Hope he does OK..but I wouldn't bank on it...Chavis WILL NOT ADJUST..You will never hear an opposing coach say..John Chavis is showing us some looks we haven't seen before...He has ONE STYLE and it fits all...At Least Miles has him recruiting..At UT fat's wouldn't make him leave Knoxville...Just hide and watch on 3rd down he will make you SCREAM...and nobody has regretted ANY of those coaches leaving...Fulmer got SO COCKY..That when Dominique Allen committed..HE NEVER VISITED HIM AT HENRY COUNTY HIGH...and Marsalis Teague had committed to Florida and CUM..but we got him..Allen might grow into a DE..He was a pretty good high school FB... But ain't nobody gonna miss "The Chief" especially over Monte Kiffin..No way..

The best thing about this announcement was that I completely forgot that BB was announcing today. Life goes on, and ultimately RB is the most easily replaceable position on the field, IMO. Sure, you need a good one, but the O-Line makes the magic happen.

Hate to tell you Sport, but in the past when we've whooped your arse , it ain't been your defense that was the problem. As a matter of fact, all of the recent contests could have gone either way.
Hell, the last SECCG we played in was a slober knocking, hammer fest and if I remember correctly, it was your lame arse offense that lost that one for you.

Our offense couldn't score on the Chavis lead defense and that was the strong suite for UT.

All the total defense rankings do is rank the teams' yards per game allowed.

Last year we allowed 314 if I'm not mistake. The difference in 350 and 314 for us last year is what? An extra field goal per game. Do you think our fans would've been any more upset after the UF game had they beat us 54-21 instead of 51-21?

UT actually had 382 points scored on them in 2007.
Some were from Pick 6's or fumbles returned for TD's.
Without Lee's Pick 6's, we only had about 268-270 points scored on us this year.
Irrelevant. Regardless, if we have another year like this year or worse defensively, folks will be upset.
