Seeing how Richard Thompson is world class and has barely been under 10, I cant imagine we judge football players with the same ruler. if that 4.47 is accurate he is more than fast enough.

If we are talking about world-class sprinters, your statement is accurate, but not for anyone else.
I am fairly sure that Joe McKnight's fastest 100 meter time was 10.7 or 10.8. Reggie Bush ran in the 10.4 range in high school, and he was considered one of the fastest high school running backs ever.
Trindon Holiday just ran a 9.99 to win the NCAA 100 Meters Championship, but he is a very unique football player.
Keep in mind that Knowshon Moreno ran a 40 in 4.59 and was a mid first round draft pick. There are very few running backs who run a real 4.4 40 or regularly run the 100 meters in under 11 seconds. And almost none of them are over 215 pounds.
Storm Johnson should be a very good running back for LSU though.

If Storm Johnson is 6-0, 215 and runs a 10.7 in the 100 and a 4.47 in the 40, that is incredible. If that is accurate, he is super fast for his size. If he has good vision and can hit the hole, then we have a great RB.
I am very pleased with this pick-up. Plus, he'll be on campus in January and RB is the easiest postion to contribute right away if needed. Next year, we'll have Murphy, Ridley, Ford, Johnson and hopefully Seastrunk. Great combination of speed and power in the backfield!

If this becomes reality...dare I say it?
Yet another crystal football.

I don't see how someone can have so much variation in their 100 meter dash. 10.7 seconds one day, and 11.79 seconds another
.
Regardless, I think that he is a very nice pick-up. This is my favorite part of the article.

He projects as a full academic qualifier with a 3.0 grade-point-average and a 20 on the ACT and expects to enroll at LSU in January as a mid-term graduate.

Yards vs. meters, maybe. That's the only thing I can think of to see that big of a split.
