With Rettig leaving we absolutely need a QB in the 2015 class

Absolutely need a QB. Big need. QB is something you need to get every year. not 2-3 in one year. But 1 per year.
We have 2 capable QB's now with rettig leaving. If one gets hurt like Mett and out for the season. Then we are one deep and a concussion away from running a wildcat offense without a passer? We may make it one season 2 deep but I would not chance it 2 seasons.... no way!
They need to push hard for deondre francois or tucker israel (Clemson commit.... but clemson took in a commit from a higher rated dual threat in Kelly bryant last month)
Cam wants dual threats so thats what we need every recruiting cycle.

I don't mind going after a dual athletic beast. That way he can easily become a safety or wr if he doesn't pan out. I kinda like my big time and 2 years apart so as they are less likely to feel the need to transfer. And 2016 has some elite guys and 2018 already has one. We really only NEED a qb this year as a precaution and to pacify fans. Hence why I say an exceptional athlete for this year.

They've been knowing for a good bit, I'm sure. I agree..we are taking a QB in this class now.

Perrilin maybe? Would we go after Waller? Waller is picking up a huge amount of steam 20th offers coming from everywhere. Say he's been blowing up the camps. He's like right on the edge as a 5 star on 247 personal rankings. Ranked #2 DTQB by them and #4 DTQB in composite.

Even with the Rettig news, I don't see the staff making a push for Pellerin yet. They'll probably go after a few more guys higher on their board.

yeah plenty of five star OOS QBs come to a program with a successful freshmen starter.

Then who are the 2015 targets? Franks committing today shows where the focus has been, on 2016... Rettig leaving changes things a little, but if he wasn't good enough to think he could play then was our depth situation really any better with him here?
I just don't see he smoke for the staff feeling like they need a QB this year, and I think that's most due to the fact that there aren't many really good ones in this class. What good does taking a practice squad guy do, when he will just transfer?
Not saying the staff won't try to get a QB this class, but the dominoes are really starting to fall, and I'm not hearing much about them reaching out to anyone.

I wouldn't mind seeing us go all out for Torrance Gibson. It seems like UTk and AU are in the running for a number of QBs and AU even already has one committed. Why not take the guy and see how he pans out?

If Rettig is gone and we only have Jennings and Harris, I would bet my IRA that we are offering a 2015 qb.
We thought we had Cam Robinson, right? Then had a want some Kentucky OL commit that came out of nowhere....then he goes to FSU. Why are you even counting on a 2016 commit anyway? Don't you know what happens to commits 500+ days away from signing day?
It's good to have 4 scholarship qbs minimum and we are down to two for 2015.

I'm not counting a 16' guy, I'm using him to illustrate that the staff appears to have a plan for QB, and they aren't freaking out as much as the rant. Maybe there's an instate guy they feel they can offer late and get, but the national targets either just aren't there or are already locked up.
Again, I'm not saying we don't take a QB, I'm just asking for a list of targets besides ole pipe dream gibson.

In 2015, all we'll need to do is direct snap it to LF, Guice, and Williams. Maybe 2016, too.
