4 and 5 stars in 2nd year being re-evaluated. I am sure you have a few exceptions like Heard, but I just don’t see that many.

I don't fully understand. Are you saying you have heard of this happening or are you suggesting that its a good idea to pull money from existing players to give to new players?
The reason I would say the latter is a bad idea is that word will spread and recruits will know that if you go to LSU and don't start right away then they will pull your money. This would lead to more transfers. I think the key is to not break the bank for any (many) recruit(s) and show them the earning potential of a starter.
Obviously you have to play the game a bit for a Perkins or Will Campbell or Dominic McKinley but for most prospects you should be able to offer them a smaller amount as a recruit with the promise of a pay day when you earn more playing time.

My opinion, this is happening at all “Major” football programs. Unfortunately, it has evolved into a business, with investment and ROI on the field.
The time of building a program on 4/5 stars and having them sit because of playing time is over, and rostering 4/5 stars that are not in the 2 deep string with NIL money is over.
Re-evaluation of roster will be a $ decision, and the “dead” money and lack of projected talent will be asked to leave.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens.

Don’t see anything wrong with this, you wanna get paid like a big boy, then step up like one. When moneys involved to this degree, it becomes a two way event.

I don’t think it’s the schools adjusting. I think the players are sending out feelers. And when Ole Miss is offering $250k to LSU’s $249k, they out. Playing time is the excuse.

This only makes sense that no matter your star-ranking from high school, you have to progress.
The coaches all know who in their position group is showing promise and who is not. Therefore, by the end of each season, they have their #1, #2 & #3 guys at CB, S, DT, etc. If you fall outside of that, your NIL is eliminated or reduced, or you are just led to the door for entry into the portal.

I agree if every school is operating this way but if other schools are honoring NIL deals made during recruitment regardless of how a player turns out and LSU is pulling them then you end up with a mess.
You can only operate that way if its industry standard.
