Dyer? I remember watching a video a year ago with him saying how LSU was his favorite team and everything.
Or is he an Arky lock?

Nor have a I. There have been some articles posted here and there for 2010, but there is still plenty of 2009 guys nationally to follow.
I'll probably start reading up on 2010 guys in the next couple weeks.
One guy I have seen is a QB out of Memphis. Guy looks very good. Should be either a 5.8 or 5.9 Duel Threat QB.

These are the guys I feel confident end up in our class next year:
Travis Dickson (TE)
Nick Jacobs (TE)
Eric Reid (S)
Vinson (ATH)
Jordan Allen (DE)
I think that is a fair assessment and one hell of a start. We need to get all those guys on board early and then move on to the national scene to get the big boys at positions of need.

Jacobs may be better suited to DE. I think if we get Dickson, which is not a certainty, Jacobs might make the switch. I think he plays both ways at Many but not positive. DJ Lewis from Haynesville is a good looking athelete, legit 4.4 guy, probably too small for RB but could be a slot WR or CB with Reed our likely slot guy next year.
QB - Broadway, Burch, and Franklin from TX
RB - Seastrunk, Gillum or possibly Sam Carter from Sharsptown
WR- Kenny Brown, Guidry from PCC, the 2 Central WRs, and Wright from Belle Chase
OL - Chad Lindsay, Espinosa, Charpentier from JC, Dillon Dayfrom WM, Wes Rea

Sorry, i talked about Reed above but forgot to include him in that list.
Reed, Lewis, Jarrett Fobbs and Brown are good candidates for the Slot WR. Some of them may be better suited at DB. Reed is a badass slot guy all the way.

Lynxcat, I really like the RB ( I can't remember his name ) from South Panola, MS. I think he is the best RB for 2010. What do you think about him as the big RB?
Posted on 1/19/09 at 6:44 pm to Stagg8
A good initial list. You spread the numbers out pretty conservatively and equally for the most part. I agree that our OL will again need some replenishing. We keep losing kids to attrition there. I think shoring up some Stud LB is a must. With Pratt gone, we will need 2 RB, before i would have been happy with just 1. We will sign another FB. If Allen goes down we have to play the shuffle game. WDE is a big need. When Alem graduates we lose a great amount of depth there. I think we land Randle. If we do, that gives us two big targets with Randle and Benton, so snagging some talented slot WR will be a must as well. One of the biggest questions will be "the numbers" as always.
The biggest challenge in making this list lies in having many young inexperienced players that can still be used at a # of positions. It depends on where past OL recruits project on the line. Whether some of our DB/WR will play CB/S/WR. Also not knowing who we finish with this year (which you addressed).

I live in South Mississippi and I've seen Travis Dickson play. He's a monster. He plays a ton of positions at ocean springs, TE, FB, DE. Will he play TE like his brother or do you think he will play defense?

I personally havent seen his film. But word is that he will be a coveted TE. LSU has already offered.
Speaking of TE. LSU offered some 6'7 240 lbs TE from Illinois named CJ Fiedorowicz.

There will be three WM players on LSU's radar.
Jordan Allen will certainly get an offer.
Dillon Day and Robert Lay have also received lots of mail from LSU and will attend JR day.
Day should get an offer as OT is a big need but Lay may not. Lay is an animal at 6'0 205 (SS)

I can't remember his name but I know of the guy you are talking about. I remember seeing some clips of him earlier this year -- Brandon Jacobs part 2. Hopefully he can make the grades though.
Like I said, I haven't followed 2010 class close enough yet to get a good feel on everyone.
-----------
Barry B. That is exactly who I was referring to -- thanks Boudin.
----------------
To that list I had above you can add:
Trovon Reed (will take visits, but I think LSU gets him). He will either be a 6.0 4 star or a 5 star. Should be top 50 nationally at the lowest.
Kenny Brown (All LSU I believe) -- he is the guy that impressed me a good bit early last year. Needs to add some weight, but good looking slot WR. I think he will end up a 5.8 4 star.
-------
We will go for 1 QB next year but it will be hard to lure in the elite talent with so much young talent already at LSU.
Heaps will stay out west -- if we werent already loaded at QB I think he would take a serious look. He can be a 4 year starter if he picks a program with a need. 5 star for sure.
Sam Carter -- I still need to look at him more because I have heard a lot of mixed reviews. I think we could make a play for him.
Terrance Broadway -- possible 5 star with a definite high 4 star. Going to be tough to pull him from Bama. Game is still early for him. Would suck to lose a kid straight out of BR.
-----------
Thats really all I have thus far.
I really need to look at DL and OL. Aleon Calhoun is a guy that has been mentioned, but I don't think he is seriously looking at LSU.
-------------
Maclin, OLB from Memphis, is my #1A priority with Lache being #1B. Need to keep our lead for both these guys.

you have to be encouraged that the kid has spoken very highly of us having never stepped foot on campus ..so when we get him here no telling what can happen
I think North Carolina makes a lot of sense for him but we have a shot

if we lose out on both Debose and RR - like this thread suggests - I think we'll go after Reed and likely 2 other prototypical WRs ..probably would need to sign at least 3
