FWIW,I have seen a lot of Louisiana HS players over the last 25 years including Neil Smith, Peyton Manning, Kevin Faulk, and Cecil Collins. Jarvis Landry is about as good as any that I have ever witnessed. He reminds me somewhat of Golden Tate. They have similar size, speed, and that dominant natural ability to position themselves properly and go and get the ball. Landry, however, has better moves after the catch. He will be a difference maker at the college level, IMO. From all accounts, LSU is in great shape with him. ...and we need to be.

LSU lock? That's the only opinion I'm searching for. 5 star lock? That's all that matters. Just moseyed on over from the rant looking for a thread to ruin. Who can answer these questions?

He'll be better than Reed IMO. He's stronger than Reed ever was at this point in their careers and he's so polished it's ridiculous.

This is THE play maker for next year's class. I think JJ and the offense will make a big jump next year, which will close the deal with Landry. Come on down.

in your opinion is he better than faulk? kevin faulk and cecil collins were the two best high school players i've ever seen come out of this state.

He is the next Dez Bryant. Very comparible. I really hope we pull this kid in. I think he compares to Bryant the most though

No, its not close...Landry is very good at catching the ball. He has sure hands, and is explosive in the open field. He will be a dangerous receiver off the ball at a Z or Slot receiver.. With that said, he's not like Faulk..Faulk, is the best recruit to come out of Louisiana, since 94 ( last 15 years )..Landry is top 5 in Louisiana for 2011.. If you looking for LSU comparison's, he can be a larry foster or Josh reed (but faster) if used properly

Dez Bryant is like 6'2 and Landry is 5'11. They are both play makers, but I think Hines Ward is a great comparison b/c of there physical play, blocking, and overall mentality. They can both go up and get it to and either take or deliver the hit. Also very, very unselfish players.

Hines is more of a possesion receiver to me, Landry is a homerun threat. Blocking like Hines and makin plays like Bryant. I will settle for that.

Have u seen Bryant's body compared to Jarvis?...Coming out of high school, he's gonna be rated higher..but not the same type of receiver..

well of course their bodies dont look alike. Did you see Bryant as a high school junior? Very skinny, He played for Lufkin in Texas, check out his film. Very similar. You cant compare a college junior to a high school junior. Not most anyway.

Well then we agree to disagree.

offenses in the last 5 years are hard to compare with the late 90's and early 00's...i think the best guy to compare him to is Larry Foster..If he goes to LSU and has a career as foster did, id take it..
